Here's a little preview of our upcoming D&D comic series!

Each Dungeons & Dragons comic book series is designed with both the casual comic book reader and the hardcore D&D gamer in mind. The casual reader discovers a story filled with excitement, adventure, and enough twists and turns to satisfy the most jaded reader, without needing to know anything about D&D itself. The gamer gets the added bonus of seeing the cities, spells, monsters, and other constants of the D&D role-playing game come to life.

D&D: Where Shadows Fall
Writer: Jay Donovan
Artist: Carlos Alberto
Cover Artist: Matt Haley

A forbidden romance between the children of two warring leaders sparks a tale of magic, betrayal, kidnapping, and rising undead. And guess who gets dragged in to help... From the pages of "In the Shadow of Dragons" return Kiernan the rogue, Lucien the paladin, Roarn the dwarven fighter and Verena the elven ranger!

This full-color, five-issue monthly series is scheduled to premiere in July 2003.

Why must all Elves have mullets? I dunno, I'm just not down on the style here. Admittedly, it's a brief piece, but it doesn't show great storytelling ability. Also, the dark Elf's sleeve never ends, apparently just merging with his hand. Not saying he can't be wearing a full upper-body suit, but it just looks wrong.

Looks very sharp, I am impressed! Website?

Oops! Got too used to having my signature automatically put at the end. This is the latest in the Kenzer & Company comic line - as part of our official D&D license.

Previous series were "In the Shadow of Dragons," "Tempest's Gate," and "Black & White."

I probably should also point out, the above image is just a preview. The colors aren't fully rendered yet, and the lettering is obviously not there. So the final should be even better!

LOL - there are many non-"mulleted" elves in the series.

I don't think you can fairly judge storytelling ability from a single unfinished page (page 5, I believe). Hopefully you'll give it a chance when it comes out.

Hey, Mark! Nice page! :)

Curiously, that's the second Kenzer comic preview this week:

here's the first! .

Just as a note, try making the dark elf a bit "grayer" and less "bluey". That's too much "Nightcrawler" (my favorite X-Man, no doubt, but another comic nevertheless).

Bring it on, Kenzer!
