Elmore, even tho I dig Lockwood's art and like his 3e look. I started in 2e and my heart will probably always be there. Elmore was part of that.

I think Elmore catches atmosphere more, for lack of a better expression. However, I find myself admiring Lockwood's technical ability more.

Given that choice, I think Elmore tips the balance in terms of art for D&D purposes.

Oh, don't worry, I won't forget it. I nearly puke every time I open up the PHB and look at the iconic characters. Ridiculous amounts of leg buckles, bandanas, lame tatoos, excessive amounts of earrings, goatee-mania, and weird S&M-spiked armour . . . .
