D&D 5E Adopting Baby Monsters (Out of the Abyss)

I want a Barbarian Goliath to adopt a Gnome Paladin and ride him into battle. It seems reasonable to me, even if Gnome Paladins are fiends from the abyss that will inevitably try to betray and eat the Goliath, or at least chew his slippers evil-ly.

Ahm how shall i get these pictures out of my head now, who rides whom into battle? And also the rest of the post is somehow unclear although i am sure it is quite funny once i figure this out.

P.S. The Goliath would have lost his slippers anyway if things are like i first interpreted your post, since his legs are dangling to the floor when the gnome mount is still young :P

Is it a requirement to call them Master Blaster?

My party adored Glabbagool. I think they would've rioted had that gelatinous cube died.
Mine too. I actually set things up so that they would naturally have to part ways after Neverlight Grove, as I figured his inconvenient size and speed would end up being an annoyance to them - so, their path to Blingdenstone was a Zhurkwood cargo barge given to them by the myconids that would take them down a long river, and Glabbagool would unfortunately melt through the craft's surface if he were to board it. When, instead of making their regretful goodbyes, they proceeded to spend the better part of an hour theorycrafting ways that they could take Glabbagool with them, I finally got the hint. Thus was born the first ever Underdark boat with crazy-paving deck plating.

The impossibility was sort of the point, although the Master Blaster pic from Oofta's post does fit nicely if you want to flip the script (I cast Find Steed - Goliath...). What I actually had in my head there, size aside, was the parable of the scorpion and the frog. The Gnome Paladin, like the Scorpion, does what is in its nature, specifically betrayal and slipper chewing.

Same. But before I had to come up with anything, the party decided to convince the gnomes of Blingdenstone to let Glabagool stay with them.

In the campaign where i DM the gnome illusionist has built himself a mechanical chicken. He collected some automaton parts. But the chicken is of course a bit chaotic and i admit, since it has a little fire breath "for attack purposes " :devilish:it might sometimes try to ignite things :)
Clockwork, I dub thee "Popeyes".

Or you could introduce a fast-food restaurant in one of the Underdark towns, which the automaton chicken behaves as if it would be the death of him to get too close.
