D&D 5E Does anyone else feel like the action economy and the way actions work in general in 5e both just suck?

Brevity is the soul of wit...

The suggestion that 5e isn’t modular (whatever you take that to mean) not only isn’t ‘slam dunked’ it isn’t even convincing.

The system is clearly modular - as evidenced by the many expansions released in its lifespan.

Pointing at new 5e books to make that point is like pointing at fridge magnets to support an arguement that there is room inside for a trunk full of groceries

What expansions? The vast majority of releases have been adventures and monster books. Very little has been released that is crunch, and I don't see a few more races, class paths and a few feats as much of an expansion. And none of that is modular.

Examples of additional developments I’ve seen... I don’t even delve deeply into 3pp

  • Developed tool proficiencies
  • Monster PC races
  • Expanded actions between adventures
  • Extra classes
  • Psionics
  • Patrons
  • Racial feats
  • Vehicle rules
  • Followers
  • Strongholds

That’s without looking at the DM’s workshop section which includes things like
  • Firearms and futuristic weapons
  • Alternate worlds
  • Monster building/customization
  • Madness

I take modular to mean, separate elements that can be added or removed that still form part of a cohesive whole.

These are not one or two examples this is a slew of additional material.

This whole thread is leading from the start. The reality does not match some of the claims that are being made.

He's not the one making the point and the context of the discussion is critical. It's on the sword to make his own point & given his other post having no relevance it seems he was unable to even after trying
That’s the first time I’ve seen the ‘one-person-one-argument’ position suggested. Lol

My response with a range of examples is above.

Imaro’s point is a good one.

Go for the ball, not the players!

It's already been made, the fact that the response is... but those don't count... doesn't discredit that.
