D&D 5E Ice-cold D&D setting which is *not* Ice Wind Dale!

Before you say anything, I started writing this long before the announcement of 'Rime of The Frost Queen." I literally published 'Whitefaire Adventurer's Guide" on the day which the IWD book was announced. Needless to say, I was ... pissed!

Anyway, we've launched a new D&D 5e adventure sourcebook, called the "Whitefaire Adventurer's Guide." Whitefaire is north of Luskan on the Sword Coast, high up upon the border of the Savage Lands. It's a hard, cold realm, split between the Frostkin - tribal 'humans' who have adapted to the cold enough to almost be a separate people - and the Coldchose, who are those who came north to find great wealth.

And yes, there is*great* wealth in Whitefaire. The amber there, which is the principal resource that is mined for, can be used as a magical storage device. You can put spells in there for 24 hours and unleash them as and when you want to. It's like a wand you can choose to charge. And, if you charge it enough, you can throw it at the enemy for a tremendous explosion!

We've also included, in no particular order:
  • Three new subclasses: The Frost Strider is a ranger heavily skilled in survival amongst the snow, while the Storm Caller uses the power of ice and frost to their advantage. The Deep Domain cleric watches out for miners and diggers, using their power to protect and profit from such a dark business.
  • Rules for snowy and arctic environments, including blizzards, ice-climbing, ice-lakes, glaciers and snowball fights!
  • Rules for the use of snow sleds for travel across Whitefaire, including a choice of pack animal. These rules also include how to fight from a sled and how to create exciting sled chases across the fields and forests of Whitefaire.
  • The Blood Red Snow - An included adventure for 4 player characters at level 2-3, which involves the hunt for a lost officer and stands as an introduction to the realm of Whitefaire and its threats.

This is my first real D&D publication so obviously I want it to resonant and hopefully sell. What do you think to it? Would you be interested in using this sourcebook? What sounds like the most fun there? Take a look and see what you think to what is hopefully the start of series of adventurers in the realm of Whitefaire! Plus, the preview is the entire book and ... free :)
