NEWEST IMPRINT IS A “WORLD” APART FROM THE REST

Mystic Eye Games Teams up with Open World Press LLC for a new twist on adventures.

April 3rd, 2003 (Tampa, FL.)—Mystic Eye Games is proud to announce the newest imprint partner to join our family. Open World Press LLC is a new addition to publishing with a unique style and feel that made MEG thrilled to be partnering up with them.

President and founder of Mystic Eye Games, Doug Herring states ”This is a great first product for our cover to cover services, it is a fresh new innovative product that fits with the quality and ideals that MEG was started with, Ed should be real pleased with his first endeavor in the world of publishing.”

“This is a wonderful opportunity for Open World Press as we will be working with an established, top-notch d20 name to bring our WORLD OF WHITETHORN product line to the consumer,” stated Ed Cha, CEO of OWP and creator of the series.

The first exciting book that MEG and OWP are putting out is “1A: The Hamlet of Thumble”. This 64-page adventure setting, written by Ed Cha, is flexibly designed for use with a party of good PCs or alternatively a band of evil PCs of 1st or 2nd level. Ready-to-use character sheets for both parties will be included as web enhancements. It is part of a "world-building through adventures" series and is thick with extra features, such as tips for a new DM and how to encourage role-playing among players.

Well-known artist Storn Cook did the digitally colored cover and rising newcomer Lee Smith illustrated the interior art. Both bring a wonderful story-telling aspect to the art, which is crisp and clean.

This product also contains information on:

-The Ecology of the Halfling (personality quirks and tendencies)
-Mundane Weapons (using common household and farming items such as
brooms and pitchforks for combat)
-The Concept of Reputation (another incentive besides experience
points and money for PCs)
-Incorporating Dreams Into Your Game (the use of foreshadowing and
nightmares)
-Special Abilities for PCs (superhero PCs?) as well as Weakness
-Cavalier, Shaman, and Witch classes
-New spells, feats, skill uses, monsters, and magic items.
-How to Avoid Killing 1st Level PCs
-How to Keep Role-Playing from Becoming "Roll-Playing"
-12 Signs of a Good DM

Oh That's Awesome! Though I must admit that first I thought "Groovy, they brought back Village Of Hommlet!"... which would have been cool too

What, no halfling cookbook for evil PCs?

Seriously, this looks like the sort of module I really like - one based around a village, with the village detailed fairly heavily. I'm not crazy about halflings, but...they can be changed into really really annoying humans.

It will be good to see the first of the new imprint come into play.
I'm sure that orange cover will leap off the shelves at people. I had to turn down the brightness of my monitor to look at the image.

I'm glad you listed the cover artist there, I was wondering who did it. Storn did a nice job on the image.

I'm looking forward to seeing what a band of evil PCs can do to this village of halflings.

This appears to be a very intriguing and interesting to play.

I had considred doing something similiar with 2 different groups and pit them against each other.

I like the cover art and it adds that perfect hint of history and familiarity.

This will be a product that I will be most interested in buying, running, or playing.

I find your lack of gnomes highly disturbing, commander... :D

Looks cool, though. Very retro! And, yes, I thought the Village of Hommlet thing, too! I'll pick this one up.

Cheers!
