D&D General Why the Gnomes are the forgotten folk - Gnomes and their Toys.

The following is mainly being done for laughs, and the fact I just got a shiny new copy of the revised Ultramodern 5.
**************************

In the Realms, the Gnomes are known as the forgotten folk.

The truth is a long time ago, Gnomes made contact with our world (via a Star Gate, yes blame Jack) and have managed to trade/reverse engineer a lot of our wonderous technology and use it for their own purposes (in return to acting as tech support when they drop off a recon unit).

They use radios to have incredibly fast real-time communication between communities (gnomes like talking like truckers from the 70s).

They have underground quick tunnels for transport, not unlike the Gummi Bears.

They have a mess of drones to observe in dangerous areas.

Every so often they get sloppy as several communities drive on the upper roads with the most Gnomish of Cars: The Green Studebaker.

However, this is one of the many reasons Gnomes specialize in illusions so they can cover for these indiscretions.

The other is they have a few really good snipers so they have this tendency to "tag and bag" adventurers that they collar for tracking purposes.

They also reinvented a community-oriented bulletin board system (because they use Gmail. :p)

How does this affect the realms and how does it affect your world.

What other repurposed modern tech do they use?
