That's a nice looking gem dragon. I'd like to get my hands on the treasure golem at some point. It's such a fun miniature.

Break from panting to do some mini building courtesy of Archon Studio. Not sure what I've gotten myself into ;)

I'm going to try something a little bit different. I found a triceratops model by a company called Pegasus. This is a 1/24 scale model made from some sort of vinyl, but it's not much bigger than some of the vehicles you'd use for a 28-32 mm game (1/72 scale) like Warhammer 40k. And at $32, this model was a bargain as its highly detailed and relatively easy to put together.

But this beefy boy is a chonk, and it's size and weight will present some challenges while painting and for display. It's just awkward painting something this large. I'll use my airbrush, and my painting hood is going to get a bit crowded. Also, I'm definitely going to have to pin this thing to his base because I can't rely on glue to keep him there. Speaking of which, I'll probably go to a hobby store and purchase a pine base for him just to ensure stability. All in all, this is a great model to practice on using the same skills you'd use for miniature painting.

I'm not sure if you have to wash vinyl like you do resin miniatures, but I went ahead and washed it just in case.
