You could look at that way, but it also comes from 4e. So it would be: 4e - PF2 - 5e, if that is your line of thinking.
What? I have no recollection of 4e having spells/powers split up with each power source having their own shared list. Quite the opposite: each and every class had their own list. Bards, artificers, swordmages, warlocks, and wizards were all Arcane classes, but they didn't share any spells in common.

Yes, 4e differentiated between different power sources, but that was primarily a flavor thing. An arcane character should do things this way, a divine character that way. But it's not like 4e bards could cast fireballs or anything like that.

It is a stepping stone thing. One leads to the other and then the next.
