personal disasters and the god of fire(ot)

I've been told that driving a cab is also good money, and that a lot of cab companies pay under the table.

Clay, my condolences.

You might want to see if you can get something in either roofing or lawn maintenance as someone suggested. Also, check the community colleges in your area. They might need someone to teach a class.

Good luck.

hey, at least my kiln design worked :)

as for stock, it is near non-existent. i usually have to turn people away who want pieces when the kiln is unloaded. my gallery has 6 pots, and he is contracted to show them for a few more months.

Glad to hear you're an established artist:

1. Have you contacted **all** your patrons and local art galleries?

2. Would renting someone else's kiln be possible? Are there any artists / hobbyists who used to do pottery and have a kiln you could buy or rent?

Good luck,

Cedric.

2 patrons, 1 gallery, all contacted.

as for borrowing/renting, wood kilns are pretty rare, this is why i built one. but this does work some places.

Pure curiosity question here...how much on average, do you get from the sale of one item?

Obviously you are under no obligation at all to answer that. I was just looking for a ballpark, cause I have no clue and was curious.

Here's an idea: if you still need rebuilding money in late July, and you can still come to GenCon, how 'bout bringing some of your brick-fused pottery with you? You wouldn't have to worry about shipping costs, and I'm sure anyone who was going to spend money on game books there could spend an extra $20 or so to help out someone with the temperament to do battered women's advocacy.

Just a thought...

Haven't actually spoken to you before, but I have enjoyed your posts. You put a lot of work into the history Mondays, and it is appreciated.

I second the idea of bringing a load of bricks and such to GenCon. Although I am not going, I know folks who are and I would send them with cash and instructions to bring me back a melted brick or something else cool.

Good luck!
