personal disasters and the god of fire(ot)

Wow, crappy. You've been burninated.

The pots and bricks do look neat, though. If people can sell gilded panda poop, I'm sure you can sell some wacky brick-fused pots.

Pure curiosity question here...how much on average, do you get from the sale of one item?

i have some pieces as low as $20. i rarely sell anything over $300.

no hesitance to talk about it, anyone can walk in to the right show, watch for a few hours and ballpark yearly income :p it is part of selling to the public.

i do hope ot bring some pottery gencon direction, but the brick thing, well, if anyone wants a brick i will bring them something to gencon, but i don't think selling them is the best idea.

it is so nice of oyu folks to think like that, but it is unneccesary. trust me, if i was in danger of missing meals or losing the house or something i would be hawking the dust from my studio floor, but this is just a minor setback. you folks are the best, but some listening and appreciation is what i needed :)

You know Clay, this didn't even strike me until I saw the kiln in your avatar pic and I saw how freaknig huge it is. I'm now really glad it collapsed while you were firing and not while it was cool and you had gone in to get some pots.

Nah, that was me changing his avatar when I changed his Title. That isn't his kiln, it's the first one I saw when I typed "kiln" into google. :D

as for stock, it is near non-existent. i usually have to turn people away who want pieces when the kiln is unloaded. my gallery has 6 pots, and he is contracted to show them for a few more months.

Clay - from reading the message, it sounds like you should add the "meltedbrickpots" to your list of stock... The ones that you have pictured here look pretty neat... it might be a way of salvaging what you currently consider waste...

Let us know if you're willing to market those items!

Clay, I'm not gonna be at Gencon, so if you'd still gimme a ballpark on what shipping'll be for a brick, that'd be great.

And I second the vote to market the melted brick pottery. Some of it looks awesome.

Bad kitty! Bad kitty! Making me feel worried for the safety of our resident gnomefish potter... just for that I am going to encourage alsih2o to start even more threads containing photographic essays of your benders, binges and blowouts.
