personal disasters and the god of fire(ot)

If you want to set up an online gallery and store for yourself, like Piratecat suggested, then I think I could help you out. Take a look at this website I did for an example. Because you are a good guy and community supporter, I will do it for free, too, if you'll actually use it. I would just need you (or anyone else) to pay for the web hosting and domain name. I can front the 50 bucks for the shopping cart software. The advantage is that you could bring in money now, with the disclaimer that people won't actually be getting their pottery for something, like, six months? people are coming out of the darned woodwork!

i have been amazed. the support i have gotten from my real community and this virtual community has shocked me.

i just had to make a run into town and i had 3 people approach me and hand me money, wiht the understanding that they were prepaying for pots for xmas gifts. one man came up and handed me an envelope and said "you volunteer in my sons school" and walked off. i open it and it contains a check for $50.

a lady in the coffe shop i frequent offered to prepay for ceramic lessons for her grandaughter who is only 2!!

i wish i could explain how all this makes me feel. i am shocked and amazed. you folks are the best. folks in general seem to be the best. i try to manage my life as if people are fantastic and worth while (most of them anyways) and now, when i have a setback people are proving it to me in droves. i am completely overwhelmed and don't evemn knwo how ot deal with it.

thank you, thank you, thank you.

I'd be interested in buying one of the fused pots. I think they're beautiful. I think the interplay between the catastrophic failure of the kiln and the resilience of the pots is intriguing.

The thought that the brick structure collapsed while literally giving its strength to the previously malleable clay is pretty cool.

My zip code is 80014, Aurora, CO. Let me know how much a pot and shipping would be.

Hmmmm.

There's a lot of cans in the lower right hand corner of that picture, Clay.

Probably really artsy potter stuff. Yeah, that's what it probably is.

the diet coke cans belong to me. the coors light belongs to my two assistants, will and brent, brent is the taller one, will is the blonde :)

Alsih2o,

If you haven't given away the last of 'em, I'm interseted in buying a fused pot also. I think a piece of art that embodies tradegy and a community's ability to help a member through it would indeed be priceless

Man, that "deconstructivist" pot on the previous page ROCKS! Maybe your next kiln should be built with bricks that melt even better. I bet there's a market for this sort of stuff! :D

Seriously, I'm very glad to hear you're back on your feet, Clay! And all the best with your second kiln. Keep us informed! (as if you wouldn't... ;))
