D&D (2024) How did I miss this about the Half races/ancestries

Feel free to reject arguments never made. Though I do think you have some straw left in your hair.
My argument that games are not real life and unlike real life news, don't turn people into bigots. If yours wasn't refuting that, then they are irrelevant. My bad.
If we are talking about the Uthgardt Barbarians... no. Their lands are not inside any of those cities.
Lots more barbarians than just them.
You didn't show that. You showed a picture of Tolkien Orcs, who were known forgers of weapons and armor. And I don't know why you are saying I'M refusing them, when I'm just straight quoting Volo's guide.
I did prove it. They create studded leather armor. They forge weapons of steel. That means that they can forge armor. For your argument to work you need to show that they are too dumb or incompetent to forge armor.
But here's a thing. Volo's guide includes a map of an orc cave system, complete with shrines, different areas for men and women, places for child-rearing. You look at that map and show me where the blacksmith's forge is labeled.
Ah. So one cave system among thousands is proof that none have forges and blacksmiths. Hell, someone was arguing about how a bunch of orcs took over a dwarven hold and kept it for a long time. No forges there!

They're in Eberron which is a main setting. They are in Wildemount which is a setting(no idea how popular). The SHOULD be in the Realms since they exist in the Realms, but WotC's bad habit of putting out subpar setting books with little real information excised that one.
Eberron and Wildemount.

2 settings not designed by WOTC nor the D&D team in house.

But in game terms, do bullywugs (and orcs) get a -2 to their History checks because they're stuck in a swamp without any access to historical texts (including their own), or do they get a -2 because they're too stupid to know anything?
You raise a good point there. With monster statblocks I've always assumed that number is the species intelligence. That's their ability to learn.

While with player statblocks I've always assumed Int is how much they have learnt. Which is a completely different thing.

I've said: tell me what reasons you have beyond "because it's always been this way" and "I like it better that way." What reasons do you have that might convince others?

I gave you other reasons. In fact "because it's always been this way" wasn't even one of my reasons (and I don't recall saying because I like it better that way----though I may have given my preference).

Faolyn, I am happy to have a conversation. I really am, and if you walk this style of posting back, I will be glad to start having a good faith discussion with you. But so far I just don't feel like this has been a two-way discussion with you, and I feel you are being a bit rude and hostile

If orcs/goblins were deleted as the generic bad guys from something like Lost Mine of Phandelver, and gnolls were dropped in instead, would people still have the same moral objections?

Yea, but no one is ever required to follow the rules. Even back then, DM's adjusted or ignored the rules that didn't fit their play style.
That hasn't changed. Rules, though, very strongly encourage DMs to play with them. A DM following the rules wasn't being a jerk. However, those rules being removed was a good thing.

I would personally prefer any intelligent creature to have a range of behaviors listed, not as an exception but as a default. Non-antagonist medusae, minotaurs, fiends, aberrations, undead, etc. are already all over the game, and make it so much richer.
That's one of the nice things about Level Up: each monster has a table of behaviors. For example, for medusae:

Sure, some of are evil medusa who can be killed on, but some are neutral or even potentially allies. It may be worth noting that Level Up doesn't use alignments except as tags for certain supernatural beings. Medusa can be any alignment.
