D&D General DALL·E 3 does amazing D&D art

I had a go at using a description from a D&D adventure. I chose the description of the "Heart of the Mountain" on the Lost Level of Undermountain: The Melairkyn dwarves carved this 20-foot-high room out of the rock at the point they believed was the heart of their subterranean realm. The black basalt doors leading [out] have handles on this side and are easily pulled open from within. Thin veins of mithral spread across the hewn walls, looking like gleaming cracks in the stone. A huge tapestry depicting a dwarven kingdom under a mountain hangs from an iron rail and spans the south wall.

This is not what I was expecting ...

That third one looks suspiciously like a Magic the Gathering card.

lots of words in the prompt seem to get lots of words in the picture sometimes
I noticed that too yesterday, when I was trying to get it to produce images of the sorts of varied tieflings diTerlizzi does (as opposed to 5e tieflings) without using the word "diTerlizzi."
Like yours, the resulting pics looked like snippets from a setting book or something, complete with weirdly mangled words.

Here's the official 5e image of a kenku:

I wanted to see how close I could get DALL-E to reproduce that. Here's what I got:

Aside from that last one having wings, those are all pretty decent. Here's the prompt I used: Short squat scrawny feathered humanoid crow wearing black medieval clothing and a cloak drawing a dagger from its sheath, white background, high detail digital art

I mean, nothing like how it likely looks in PS.... An obsidian tower protrudes from the bottom of the gloomy basin, its pinnacle an elongated hand extending skyward. Known as Sablereach, the tower is rumored to be the petrified arm of a forgotten, dead god.

fascinating....the first four had "fantasy art style added".....the others did not....

An enormous, toothed gear rises out of the center of town, turning slowly. Creatures can enter and exit the portal from either side of the standing disc, which lies at the end of Modron Way—a wide, spireward-facing road paved with shimmering metal plates. Constructed around the opposite side of the gate is Concord Terminus, an interplanar train station.

Looks like it's giving someone the finger.

Here are some attempts at generating an image of a new character my youngest daughter is working on:

She asked if her character could have fake wings. Since we're going to be playing The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, I suggested she make her character be a Witchlight Hand, since they get fake butterfly wings as part of their uniform.

The Prompt:
Four cloaked adventurers, one wearing mail armour, one in wizard's robes with a decrepit pointy hat and stout staff, one a brown-haired dwarf with a hefty axe, and one a slender, red-haired elven archer, are standing at the entrance of a dark cavern. They look up in terror as a dragon, its scales a gleaming onyx, swoops down from the overcast sky.

The Pictures

I probably should have placed them out of doors more explicitly and facing away from the viewer. Lots of weirdness, but at least while I wouldn't call the elves ugly, they're also not sexualised.

With a revised prompt, we get...
group 5.jpeggroup 6.jpeggroup 7.jpeggroup 8.jpeg

The revised prompt is...
Four adventurers stand outside, their backs to the viewer, their boots and cloaks coated in snow, at a cavern whose entrance is rimmed with occult sigils. A dragon, its scales a gleaming onyx, swoops down from the overcast sky. The four are: a grizzled older man wearing mail armour, a young man in wizard's robes with a decrepit pointy hat and stout staff, a brown-haired dwarf with a hefty axe, and a slender, red-haired elf with a longbow.

Clearly, I need to work on my AI prompts!
