Mars gets planet-wide sandstorms, which is what I think they were dramatizing.I also think, “why are there high winds on Mars? There’s basically no atmosphere.” But it’s a great book and film.

Back when I worked in audiobooks, we ended up recording that novel in English and in Spanish at the same time (broadly) and in the same studio, on the same computer. There was always some concern among management that there was going to be some confusion because the file names were so similar, but I don't remember it being a problem.Years ago, I got a $1 deal of Don Quixote on Audible. And then a few years later, Amazon said that since I'd already bought it on Audible, I could get the Kindle version for $1 as well. So I guess I'll be chipping away at it this year. It's a 36-hour audiobook, so it's not something I'll be binging, especially since I'm new to it and really want to get as much out of it as I can.
An upside of anthologies, in my experience, is that if a story turns out to be crap at least it's likely to be quick to get through.I finished reading the Cyberfunk! anthology. Like most anthologies, a mixed bag, but the quality is generally good, and it opens very strongly. Published in 2021, one of the stories features a social media owner attempting a hostile coup of the US. Cyberpunk, ever the Cassandra of genres.
Ningún problema hasta ahora.Back when I worked in audiobooks, we ended up recording that novel in English and in Spanish at the same time (broadly) and in the same studio, on the same computer. Yeah. It turns out that you really don't need to have Spanish in order to engineer audiobook sessions recording in it.Ningún problema hasta ahora.
Can confirm: I have been faking it until I make it in Southern California since the late 1990s.Yeah. It turns out that you really don't need to have Spanish in order to engineer audiobook sessions recording in it.You just need to be able to pronounce it enough that the narrator knows where to pick up reading.
Yeah, I can see that. Most of the time when I was telling a narrator where to pick up, I'd just heard them say it. That helped. Can confirm: I have been faking it until I make it in Southern California since the late 1990s.
