GOD RULES: Player's Guide (5e) Kickstarter Pre-Launch Page

Bit busy (girlfriend taking me out for my birthday shortly) so a briefer response for now. But I like the idea of Stretch goals replacing AI art with new art by real artists - rather than one goal to replace all the AI art which may not be viable.

Not sure about the idea of a blank pages (where the AI is) version - how many people would legitimately want one of those? Though I could offer it at a lower price point I guess.

As regards Steampunkettes book a quick search reveals that was 64 pages...not 416. So that puts the funding difference into perspective. Not sure how structured her stretch goals but something to investigate tomorrow.

I was honest about the use of AI. It's mentioned in the Use of AI terms at the bottom of the Kickstarter. I assume it's in the Pre-Launch too.
Happy birthday! We're throwing a birthday party for my daughter this afternoon!

For the record, I don't think you should let anyone on this site or any other browbeat you about AI art. You should do what makes the most sense for your project and your practical situation. This is an amazing potential product, and I look forward to supporting it with more than just words.

I own a physical copy of @Steampunkette 's original book with the AI art, and I like it. I think she was right originally about the AI being a good aesthetic fit for the twisty psionic subject matter.

Finally got the Pre-launch Page activated, let me know if I have made any mistakes; its my first Kickstarter after all.

Any feedback or questions (on either the book or the Kickstarter) is appreciated.
I have a question. Why is the PDF 28 and the physical copy just 2 pounds more? Wouldn't it be the other way around where the physical copy costs the most and the PDF is fairly inexpensive?

Awesome! I mean, demi-liches must be aspiring to something, right? I guess there'll be Uber-liches and Meta-liches!

Ugh. You couldn't afford something so you decided to steal it?
It's not theft unless they just ask AI for a picture and leave it alone at that. If someone asks AI for a base picture, then modified is over hours and hour, it's no longer the original artwork. The new artist has used the AI tool to lengthen hair, change colors and styles, widen eyes, round cheeks, alter clothing styles and much more. The result is the same as if you took a paint, canvas and brush and used another piece of artwork as an inspiration for your own personal piece.

AI is more nuanced than "It's always theft."

As far as I'm concerned @Upper_Krust is the new artist for these pieces as he put many hours, up to 33 in one case, into achieving his own vision.

So if I steal your car, and then spend hours and hours repainting it, I didn't steal it? That magically makes it 'mine'?

Do you understand how AI works to make images? Did you understand @dave2008’s example? It is completely reasonable to not like or want AI art. However, AI art =/= theft of an artist work (at least not really anymore than any artist copies another to some extent). It is more nuanced than that.

No. If you get the parts and make a car that looks exactly like mine and then paint it up, it's yours. I still have my car. The artist online still has his art and it was not used by the AI artist who changed it into something different.
