Given that Tarkin isn’t in this, I don’t think so.
And it’s going to be a lot more than a crowd getting massacred in this version.
And according to interviews events in Rebels form part of this series.
We know from The Bad Batch that the Empire introduced chain codes as the new universal ID, so they could have used that, but a work visa seems distinct from that - and if they introduced a new term they'd have to explain it.Well ok, something else then.
It really comes down to poetry and immersion. When you didn't know what they were, the term 'Clone Wars' evoked something. 'Droid' is a great word (imagine if they'd chosen 'robot'). The words 'kinderblock' and 'visa' do not evoke wonder in a galaxy far, far away to me (that's also why I hate Krennick saying "swell" in the trailer). I guess for all of Lucas' faults, his word choices were evocative and immersive. They feel Star Warsy. 'Kinderblock' is just a really rubbish portmanteau which feels workshopped. But hey, that's just me. Maybe those words work great for you!We know from The Bad Batch that the Empire introduced chain codes as the new universal ID, so they could have used that, but a work visa seems distinct from that - and if they introduced a new term they'd have to explain it.
At least "kinderblock" is pretty self-explanatory - same root as kindergarten but with none of the charm, plus the implication that Coruscant's orphaned / abandoned children numbers are on a scale that entire tower blocks are dedicated to them.
Nah, kinderblock definitely gave me the Space Nazi vibes that have always been the basis for the Empire, so I found it sounded both fitting and brutal.
Kinderblock to me works for exactly the same reason that Droid does - it's unfamiliar enough, while still conveying a sense of the underlying concept, so you can hear it without requiring further elaboration and then accept it as being part of the texture of this world. It really comes down to poetry and immersion.
