Outgunned Superheroes

I don't know if I'd say fired, but certainly a conversation should be had about Daniella taking off her gloves and going nuts in the superhero space would be good.
I may have injected some hyperbole in there.
That said, their stretch goals all are riffing off of the Infinity War, so the MCU is clearly a big part of what is inspiring them with this. Which is probably pretty smart -- the MCU is vastly more popular than actual comics today and will inform what a lot of gamers want from their superhero RPGs.
For sure. And, just as personal preference, I will take "cinematic" rules over "comic book" rules any day. That is, while I think that superhero RPGs should be media agnostic, if a game does try and embrace a genre, the one I want least is trying to use "panels' and "pages" and "issues" in the actual rules structure.

I don't think of superheroes as solely tied to comics. I grew up reading sci-fi and fantasy, and watching cartoons and TV. I did not start reading comics until I was 14 when the Flash TV show was out and I discovered Flash (II) #50 at my local grocer (remember those?). I of course fell in love with comics after that, but I don't think comics are for superheroes only or that superheroes are for comics only. And the first supers game I ever bought (Heroes Unlimited) treated it as a genre, rather than a medium, and despite that game's flaws that has always stuck with me.

I think the idea behind the art is to visually link the new iconic heroes (Night Talon) to an easily recognisable cultural touchstone (Batman). If I am playing Outgunned Superheroes, chances are it is because I love superhero movies and want to emulate those big screen adventures at my table, and I don't think that is lazy or unimaginative.

For over 15 years now, Savage Worlds has been my go-to Forever game, but Outgunned is coming very close to dethroning it.

I also agree with some of the other comments above. I had little interest in the default Outgunned genre setting, however once I got my hands on Action Flicks 1 and Actions Flicks 2 the sky is the limit. I am really enjoying running Killing Aliens like an Alien RPG with less crunch. I have run five triple-shot games and two one-shots of Killing Aliens so far and this has been lots of fun and it looks amazing on Alchemy. I am also excited at mixing and matching the other Action Flicks to achieve certain. The art that Daniela Giubellini does as part the Two Little Mice team is just really amazing!
How was the lethality in Killing Aliens? Did you have many PCs "left for dead"?

Sure, but there's a difference between "Clearly shows what character its supposed to be conceptually similar to" and "looks just like that character". Lots of supers games have archetypes where the original is pretty obvious--but the artwork that goes with them looks like a pastiche, not the character itself.

In two of the games I have run by the final encounter the survivors were depleted, some had zero grit, on passed a death roulette roll. Adrenaline spent, spotlights spent and they overcame the final enemy - barely and lost 1 out of the original 4 characters . The other lost 2 out of the original 4 characters. And the Aliens are pretty dangerous, but with Outgunned it took a bit for me to get the feel of you have to toss a lot at heroes. And you constantly need to encourage them using Adrenaline, spotlight and all the rerolls. It has been fun, it still lack 100% the feel of Alien RPG but loads of fun.

Received most of my Outgunned and Outgunned Adveture in the mail today. There is still one lagging followup box ...

Have you tried Mothership? If so, how did it compare?

HMMM I love Outgunned and OG Adventure, having just received the latter in the last few weeks. It's exactly what I want.

HOWEVER... I've never had much success with super hero RPGs. So far none of the Action flicks really speak to me (animal adventures, power rangers, terminator... sadly none of these really spark me much).

I'll wait until the very end, but I may actually pass on this one after all.

Agreed on Superhero RPGs! They are a tough nut to crack. I was thrilled to back Onyx Path Publishing Aberrant 2nd edition and it is good, but has a lot going on. It does not have the ability to pick it up and run with. I have used a variety of others and they are usually too crunchy or lack depth of impact. What I am seeing is OGS cut away the things that slow down getting going bit have more mechanical depth than far narrative systems while giving you plenty of narrative tools. So I am very excited, and I have lots of resources from other superhero ttrpgs to use with OGS.

In the end, I've decided to cancel my pledge for Superheroes. Outgunned (core) + Adventure is plenty for me and I haven't even had a chance to run either yet!

I know that this will be a resounding success.

If they announce an artbook, I may jump in just for that though.
