A new Dungeons & Dragons guidebook is coming out later this year. DK Books has announced The Book of Dragons, a new guidebook featuring the dragons of D&D. The new book is written by Michael Witwer and will be released in August 2025. The 224-page book isn't a rulebook but rather a licensed book that focuses on the lore of dragons. The book is written at least partially from the perspectives of Tiamat and Bahamut.

Actually that first picture is some of the best art I've seen for D&D...in long time...a long time.
Oh goodness no, that is just run of the mil 2024 art (IMO of course). I also have several design and artistic issues with that piece actually (though I am picking when it comes to dragons). Here is, if not my favorite, definitely my favorite red dragon art of 2024/25. I love the slain gold dragon in the foreground.

Yeah thats pretty cool, havent seen this one. What kind of dragon are those poor fools weeping over that are probably about to get eaten? I'm guessing that's a red dragon in the background?

I could be wrong but it doesn't look like the same artist for the gem dragon concept art that did the chromatic and metallic concept art. That is unfortunate as I think he great job with the new designs.

Excited for this. I have been waiting for a hard cover that has all of the 2024 dragon concept art in it and this seems to be that book (I hope). I plan to get this if it tracks with these preview images.
Actually, looks similar to some of the 3E Draconicon art.
