FFG shunted all their RPG stuff to Edge Studios. I believe they're still reprinting Star Wars, but there hasn't been anything new for quite a while. The core Star Wars lines are pretty complete: they all have a core book, a Beginner game, a GM screen with a short adventure, an adventure or two, six splatbooks (one per career), and some other appropriate sourcebook. In addition, there have been some compilations of gear and vehicles from assorted books, as well as sourcebooks giving info on integrating things from other eras (I know there's a Clone Wars one and a Rebels one, and there are probably a few others). That's not to say that you couldn't do more—there's definitely stuff to be mined in the Disney+ shows, and the sequel trilogy is untouched—but the low-hanging fruit has alread been picked.
They could easily do a new edition (without the 3 separate game core books, please).

There's a fun idea. What does FFG still own/have the rights to? Star Wars is out of their hands, right?

As I understand it, yes. And Warhammer moved to Cubicle 7.

Edge Studio and FFG are part of Asmodee, right?

Yes. And Edge seems to have Star Wars (using the Fantasy Flight engine for it), L5R, Rokugan, and some other things.

Mearls will probably say something on social media soon enough about what he's going to be working on.

They could, but that would be a significant investment. And I, for one, liked having different books for each different types of Star Wars – they provide focus in an otherwise very broad setting. At least Age of Rebellion and Edge of the Empire deserves being different games, but I can see the point in the Force stuff working better as an add-on to the other ones (particularly since force users are supposed to be rare and hunted, it makes little sense to have all these different types – they'd probably work better for an Old Republic game)..

Also, Edge just published Arkham Horror, a d6 dice pool Cthulhu game. I bought the starter box a few weeks ago, but have not played it yet.

I think Asmodee pulled all the rpgs from its subsidiaries and gave them to Edge, in part that art from French artists can be subsidized but now Edge has so many games under its own umbrella and not the staff to produce them all.

Corporate structure is weird, though. My wife works for one company, on projects for one of their subsidiaries, with team members from both.
