I’m a massive MCU fan and a big Marvel fan in general, so I want to like this but … from that first teaser trailer at least, I’m not very excited so far.

It’s very meta - or just about being an actor in Hollywood - but there’s no suggestion that Simon develops powers. Maybe he never will? Because if he does I’d have led with that in the trailer.

This is an MCU show. His "friend" is the guy who faked being the Mandarin. I agree, Simon will end up with powers at the end. This is probably all from the first episode.
