Having problems with editing tools while posting

I just noticed this today. All of the formatting tools for posting are greyed out and inaccessible for me. It doesn’t matter if it’s a new post or if I’m editing.

I can still do some that I know the codes for, but it’s problematic going forward.

Anyone else having a similar issue?

Forgot to mention I'm on PC using FireFox.

Additional: it’s not happening on any other website I post on. The problem exists when I’m accessing someone else’s posts as well.

EDIT: it seems to be only happening on my phone; persisting after resetting.

Mine does that on one of my phones browsers. I assume it’s blocking something those tools need enabled. Works fine on pc though.

This is in Safari, and I don’t think there’s been any recent update.

I seem to recall having similar problems a few weeks back on my computer but I think I just had to restart my browser and log back in here, and it doesn't sound like that will resolve your issue.

Try hitting the "Toggle BB Code" button in the upper right of the posting area. It looks like [ ]

I don't know if I hit it by accident occasionally or it gets stuck somehow, but every once in a while I get it accidentally turned on and experience what you're seeing. Flipping the switch normally fixes it.

That was it!

And oddly, that toggle was NOT visible on the main bar- it was under one of the pulldown menus.
