Story
Head to Rome more in 64AD during the midst of Emperor Nero's reign and also the year of the great fire that resulted in three quarters of Rome being burnt the ground. The four major hills of Rome are in disarray and are surrounded by the undead hordes. The decision to save the hills and become a legend is up to you! Choose self preservation and scavenge resources for your own survival, So do you have what it takes?
Gameplay breakdown
If you've played the other games in the franchise then this should familiar however, there is a twist. In standard Zilights you draw from the deck and deal with the drawn card and hopefully if lucky you'll survive the 28 turns - Representative of four weeks.
In Zilight: Pax Romana the core premise is still the same, drawing down on the deck, but the cards drawn are changed depending on the phase drawn in:
We've had a lot of internal discussion on how best to design Zilight whilst also listening to player feedback. We feel these changes keep the core premise of survival the focus of the game whilst adding enough of a twist to make this edition feel fresh.
(All cards that are presented are very much a work in progress and have not yet been edited)
That is all for now we have much work to be done!
We are also running a christmas sale on our website - Everything is 20% off! Use code: blackfrogsale at checkout. In Zilight: Pax Romana the core premise is still the same, drawing down on the deck, but the cards drawn are changed depending on the phase drawn in:
Before a card is drawn roll on the morning phase.
- This Phase fundamentally changes how the cards behave. There are 12 in total, roll a 2d6 and pray to the dice gods to determine your fate.
- Fast Zombies - All opponents gain +1 to initiative.
- Quiet Streets - You can choose to redraw the card.
- Infestation - A horde of dirty rats swarm you, Fight!
- You can find the entire list on the campaign page.
After all cards have been drawn and completed roll on the Evening phase.
- Once all card encounters have been dealt with you must choose whether to roll on the Sanctuary or scavenging phase.
- Sanctuary - The hills of Rome are under constant siege and must be defended, during this phase you scavenge resources/fend off attacks from that specific santuary. There are 4 hills in the game - Capitlone, Palantine, Esquilline and Caelian. Each one provides crucial resources and in game benefits that make it easier to survive
- Scavenging phase - It should be said that you don't have to save Rome and can simply look out for yourself in this case you'll hunt for your own resources. The sanctuaries will still be attacked but eventually will be destroyed.
