Draw Steel: Fake variety helps no one

My initial feeling was that the resource names were just useless chrome, but having read through the characters a couple of times, I think it serves a useful function of differentiation. Every class has specific ways of generating resources, and I think it will help people get the difference of why character A can generate resources from a specific event when characters B, C, and D can’t.
I think I'm the same, despite my earlier comment.

Word definitions, especially from a Wiki source, are generally not considered good evidence in formal arguments.
And when will metacurrency appear in a major dictionary?

The etymology Meta - not part of story being a common meaning in dramaturgical lingo, Currency - expendable for buying something.
HP are meta - at least as defined by D&D, and used in most games - and, as they buy off damage without imposing penalties, seem more currency with one hit = death...

Given the amount of things one buys with stress in Daggerheart, it's more a metacurrency than a damage track.
The Gygaxian definition of HP was essentially that they were simply how long one could dodge, brute absorb, and/or parry prior to the one telling blow that kills one. That takes them away from being proper fiction, and in into the meta. Once they're meta, note what they buy you: avoiding that one telling lethal blow (a Gygaxian misunderstanding of medieval combat as bad as his irrelevant subdivisions of polearms...), especially coupled with armor preventing hits.
