Tell your overdue Kickstarter story

Waiting on an overdue Kickstarter? Let us know in our survey!
FAILURE!.png

We're putting together a potential article on overdue (or failed!) crowdfunding projects.

So, tell us your story. Which crowdfunders are overdue, and by how much? What was the original estimated delivery date? We've set up a survey with which you can provide us information, and we'll be using that survey to put together an article in early 2026.

We have set a 1-year limit on this--to keep this down to a reasonable list, only crowdfunders which are a year or more overdue, please! That's a year or more past the estimated delivery date listed on the crowdfunding page.

Also, please note that this is for tabletop roleplaying game projects only.

Use the link below to fill out the short survey. It should only take a couple of minutes. Please note that if you include anything in the additional comments box, you may be quoted in the article.

Note--this thread was originally started in late 2024, but the survey has been created as of 20 December 2025 for an article due to be published in early 2026.

I've just got my Dolmenwood hardbacks. I pre-ordered on their store rather than backing the KS, though. The books do exist so hopefully it's just shipping logistics etc. at this point. It's very good.
Good news, I've since received the books! The campaign book is massive. I've run a couple of friends through winters daughter and I've been reading through the campaign book to prepare for future adventures and finding quite a few "WTF, mate?" moments. They were well worth the wait.

In 2010, e20 System Evolved RPG, the evolution of d20 by Gary M Sarli*, was never delivered. In 2014, in the last update, he claimed he had succumbed to mental illness due to a misdiagnosis. Looking at his social media activity, he is fully recovered and bans anyone who asks about the project.

*He worked on Star Wars SAGA and leveraged that for the KS.
Yeah, I paid a fair sum for that one... sigh

Every so often I see updates from the Pixels light up dice project that I backed on impulse. I only pledged for a single d20, which I received in early 2024. That was already something like 2 years late, but apparently there's been a lot of problems with the project and the current tariffs seems to have made it impossible for them to fulfill (including outside the US for some reason that probably makes sense, but I am ignorant to why). I remember them initially being caught off guard by the project blowing up the way it did and needing to find alternate sources for the increased number of components which probably led to higher costs. Fast forward a couple years and with all the increased chip shortages, I don't imagine their margin has gotten any better so I can see how tariffs would be a risk to destroy them.
This coming April it’ll be 5 years. Ordered 2 full sets plus 8 extra d20s for my players. Still waiting on the 2 sets, both of which are colors they can’t supply because of issues with them (obsidian black and hematite gray).

Welp, I've always prided myself on getting rewards out within a month of the KS ending. That streak ended. In my most recent B&B 2e KS, I had an option of a boxed set. It took 3 months to manufacture them, so I planned the order before the KS even ended to make it quick. They were delivered to my house at 4:30 pm. By 6pm, someone stole them off my porch. So I had to do a re-order, which means a 3-4 month delay.

I feel bad for those backers. Every backer is so important to me, so for those of you who may have backed, I am truly sorry for this delay.
Its gotten much better, but for a while porch pirates were bad in my neighborhood. Still, for anything expensive/important I use the option to deliver to pickup locations.

Or the Here Be Dragons Cypher system version of Monte Cook's The Diamond Throne? While hardback books were eventually delivered (2 years later I think), final pdfs were never delivered and most ancillary materials never released. And the physical book quality was awful, with some art clearly of a low resolution, my copy had misprinted pages (upside down), etc.

Redshirts, Vol. 2: A Starfinder Compatible AP. It's been almost eight years since the campaign ended, and nary a sign of the product. The creator, T.J. Lantz, has multiple unfulfilled KS campaigns. Apparently he ran into financial troubles due to a misunderstanding of tax laws and subsequently sorted those out, but has yet to fulfill the campaigns.

Redshirts Vol 1 was pretty good; it was basically Star Trek Lower Decks before there was Lower Decks.
