I'm not typically a traditionalist, but I love me some O Holy Night and Masters in This Hall. Christmas isn't Christmas without choirs, the attendant majesty and British folks mispronouncing 'Noël'.It’s on mine …

I think for me at least, your first post on it was a bit ambiguous as to whether attacking the song or the cause or both. I think attacking the song is fine, but the cause less so as such? Can discuss whether there may have been other causes that should have warranted support as well, but I think it was a good cause.I’m far from being the first to criticize the lyrics of that song. So much so that, as I pointed out, even its creator describes it as being one of the worst songs ever. Not sure why I’m being singled out here for expressing a common opinion.
It "really?" did not come across as a lyrical criticism. The word "lyrics" did not even feature in your post. It's only now it's suddenly all about the lyrics. But, eh, whatever. I know what you'll reply, and what I'll say, and what you'll say, so let's just skip the tedious inevitability of the rest of the conversation and get back to talking about Whamageddon.I don’t think it’s churlish to criticize the song’s awful lyrics just because it was used to raise a lot of money for charity. “It was for a good cause so you can’t criticize it.” Really?
He’s all right.Let's not even get into Rick Allen from Def Leppard...
I think this was an attempt at humour. Getting hit with a left and a right, ambidexterity... then the zinger, Rick Allen lost an arm in a car crash. Haw haw? He’s all right.
No, it’s not “suddenly” all about the lyrics. It was only ever about the lyrics. I specifically was commenting on what the song was “about” – e.g. its subject matter, aka its lyrics. It "really?" did not come across as a lyrical criticism. The word "lyrics" did not even feature in your post. It's only now it's suddenly all about the lyrics.
I survived! Only heard covers. It's Christmas Eve. Who are the survivors?
Nice. You're not across the finish line yet though... head on a swivel, etc.I survived! Only heard covers.
It’s 10:30 pm on Christmas Eve, and we don’t have any music playing. I think I’ll be OK.Nice. You're not across the finish line yet though... head on a swivel, etc.
New Zealand, roger. You seem overly lax/confident though... that's when bad things happen. It’s 10:30 pm on Christmas Eve, and we don’t have any music playing. I think I’ll be OK.
