What’s the big deal about the trailer? Did I miss something?

Thor talking about his kid to his dead dad. Actually seems normal and mundane

I clearly am the audience for this. I want to see them come back. I hope Thor and Wolverine share screen time etc etc

I’m seeing a lot of stories of movies to watch on new years. Netflix has a similar 1 to a lot of the new season yea and I noticed most of the movies are pre 2000. Harry met sally seems to be on a lot of these lists and it’s 1989.
My argument would be I’d rather have the whole cast from great escape or the avengers than some of the new crap. Now most or all of the great escape cast is dead so I’d rather bring back the best of the rest when it comes to superheroes.
I look at dr who when they brought back Sarah Jane and others that are were/now old and not recognizable to who fans of the new generation. It was a good idea that should have been done 40-50 years ago (they brought back pertwee companions and 1 mention from the first dr.
Same goes with hemsworth and whoever else. There’s real nostalgia there/ they are better actors than most or all of the new avengers which may not be high praise

“Only nostalgia! Nothing new!” is one of the biggest problems with movies right now. I’m an old man, so I also love a good bit of nostalgia pandering. But if no new stories, characters, or actors are allowed, what’s going to fuel the nostalgia craze in 20 years?

And all those actors you want brought back again and again? At one point, they were the new choices, that I’m sure someone would have been complaining about if the net had existed. Hemsworth was practically unknown at the time (if I recall correctly, the only reason Cabin In The Woods got released was that someone retroactively realized they had a shelved movie with Thor in it).

And Morrus summed it up more elegantly than me, but I really think you’re glorifying the past. There were obviously standouts, but on the whole, I don’t see the current crop of actors being worse. Sure, some of the movies have been wobbly, but none of that was the actors fault. And I do think the last few have been much stronger (after Brave New World, anyway…shudder).

So whose fault is it? The number 1 anticipated movie on ign was doomsday (mine is the odyssey)
Pedro pascal was also a mostly unknown and yet does he command the room like Robert Downey? Chris prat seems to have it. But is it his scripts or did he do the best with his opportunity on parks/guardians and turn himself into a megastar.
Same with Michael b Jordan. Starts off on wire and now a headliner. He’s the best part of black panther (my opinion).
You kind of know when there is a good actor that can make a studio a lot of money most of the time
Sebastian Stan, Dominque Thorne Anthony mackie and Brie Larsen don’t have it. They don’t put people in seats television or movies and they have been given . No body will give 2 bleeps if any of those 4 are in another marvel movie so it’s good nostalgia vs bad. They are wooden compared to say Giancarlo Esposito who is 67 and when he is on the screen I take notice. He’s the best part of a crappy captain America movie and mostly has a screen presence

I think it very likely that Doom is an alternate Tony, because if nothing else Tony is histrionic enough to name himself Doom after he breaks bad. Maybe he runs into an actual Victor von Doom during his multiverse romp and copies his style. There’s no suggestion in the FF film that Reed or anyone else knew someone called VvD IIRC.

Basically, I think he’s the Iron Maniac.
