much like Endgame shockingly only came down to the original Avengers.
nothing shocking about it. Remember strange set things in motion so that they could win, and the only scenario that happened is when the snap reduced things to the OG avengers.

The time stone thing was actually a stroke of plot genius. They could bat away any contrivance as “well that was the only scenario is which it worked, so that’s why it went that way”

Here's a Doomsday moment I'm imagining now: the FoX-Men Earth is in bad shape, either from Sentinels and such or from an incursion, or both. Doom arrives and says to whichever FoX-Men are still around "Come with me if you want a world where this doesn't happen."

This might be how Doom recruits many of the people he recruits; "your world sucks now, but I can fix it."

Doom wants to make a new world probably because of someone he lost, maybe because of an incursion. Maybe he blames the incursions on one or more MCU characters, and wants to erase or undo their incursion-inducing actions.

as long as something to leads to Doom saying "Like a peasant?" i'm here for it.

I wonder what Reed will do to push Doom to his limit, whereupon Doom clenches his fists and yells "RICHARDS!!!"
Yeah, this is required - the two don’t have an onscreen relationship as yet, so it’d be good if the film establishes one by having Reed be the one who outthinks Doom at every turn.

The question is, can Pascal out-smug Downey? We shall see.

The FoX-Men have already dealt with the Sentinels in the highly underrated Days of Future Past, so I doubt they'll rehash that.

"The only scenario" was written by a screenwriter, probably at the direction of Fiege. They wanted to have the marquee characters to be the focus, no matter how many guest stars were there for a second or two.

The question is whether we get a one and done Doom (which is a bad use of Doctor Doom) or we get RDJ sticking around for years as Doom (which robs us of a Doom that has had a decades-long rivalry with Richards).

Ideally (?) we'd have a multiversal reboot at the end, and we have a new Doom who's "always" been part of the reborn MCU and who has "always" had a rivalry with Reed, who has "always" been part of the new timeline.

I'm not sure how audiences would feel about Crisis on Marvel Earths, though. We'll see what the plot actually looks like when we see it on the screen. (Lots of MCU movies have name-checked Marvel Comics storylines but not actually followed them that closely.)
