The oldest tech you still use

Crud, I just remembered. I have a Peavey amp and some effects pedals from 1994 that still work.

I have a digital alarm clock from 1987
I still use several iPod nanos and an iPod touch
I have a Windows 7 laptop from 2008 that I use as an itunes 'server'

I have an ipod nano too and it still works, i got it from my mom.

I only switched from Rogers last year, but I'd also been with them since 1996.

Huh. I have a box with my old Coleco-vision in it, but it hasn't been plugged in in over a decade. Likewise I have my first VCR (1994?) and my childhood video disc player sitting in my shop, waiting for me to figure out how to properly tie them into the rest of my entertainment center.

My old (inherited) 8 track player, turntable, and stereo are hooked up in my exercise room, and they get reliably used at least 3 or 4 (or maybe 3) times a year. I've had that since like 1987 and it smells amazing when it powers up. It's probably going to burn my house down some day.

My childhood digital alarm clock is in one of our spare bedrooms. That's probably circa 1986 or 87 as well.

On the more "every day" end of the spectrum, my desktop computer has a has a 10 Gig HD in it from somewhere in the late 90s (go go z:\ !!!) that I keep meaning to really clean out and reorganize/retire.

Every now and then their stupidity gets me to the brink, but then I remember how many times that email account is used to sign up for stuff. I've been slowly moving it over to either one of my Hotmail or Google accounts, but I keep finding more.

Does this look familiar to anyone? creative Zen, circa 2007. Occasionally used in cars when there's no other option.

I switched everything over to gmail at least a dozen years ago in anticipation of an eventual switch away from Rogers. It didn't end up happening until over a decade later, but forewarned is forearmed, etc.

It was far less painful than you'd think. Basically, just go through your list of important sites and services that you use your Rogers email for. On the first pass, you'll remember 80% of them. Over the next few weeks or so, you'll remember or run across more. Over a few months, max, you'll have a list of all of the important ones (if in 6 months, you don't remember or use one, you probably don't need it). At that point, you're prepped for a switchover.

There are so many carriers nowadays that are so much cheaper than Rogers or Bell too. I had stuck with Rogers because I could always get a screaming deal, usually by whispering the word 'TekSavvy' (or whoever the latest competitive threat to the Rogers/Bell hegemony was).

Depends what you mean by tech. If you mean with a microchip I have an iPad 2 that still seems some use.

But I have a manual hand drill, that was my dad's and possibly his dad's that still gets use. Looks at lot like this one.
