OSR [Kicking the Tires] Plotting an OSR Adventure Path

Perhaps against my better judgement I'm going to be testing the waters with an OSR Adventure Path for ZineMonth. It's something I've been toying with at the back of my mind for awhile now, and I'm going to use this opportunity to kick the tires on it, as it were, especially since my focus has been almost exclusively on open-ended hexcrawl sandboxes.

The project is called Quest for the Unknown: The Caverns of Anamosa, and will be a remix of B1 In Search of the Unknown, cleaning up and reorganizing the dungeon, and setting it up to be the first in the series of a linked campaign. The adventurers will explore the eponymous dungeon, finding it abandoned by the builders, who are renowned for having stopped a barbarian invasion decades previous. As they explore, they'll find clues that indicate the pair left several years previous, to travel to the land of the barbarians for unknown reasons.

This is an experiment, to see how well the idea of an Adventure Path goes over with the OSR community. You can follow along here before the launch: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thirdkingdom/quest-for-the-unknown-an-osr-adventure-path

SMIF Art! Haven't seen his art since GURPS 3e days.

Speaking of OSR community - where else are you publicizing this?

Well, the TGDQ and Slavers series exist and are held in high regard, I dont think the "OSR" should have issues with the idea of an adventure path.

If its good, the people will come.

Oh, yeah, I know there had been adventure path-style linked adventures in the past, but in my experience it is very much against the current OSR standard these days. Wrongly or rightly.
Do what sings to your heart. I think there are enough people who would be into the AP format. Will it come out over multiple crowdfunds? If yes, then I usually wait until the final crowdfund and buy all the volumes along the way (exceptions to every rule, like Electrum Archive; but mostly that holds true).

My goal is to crowdfund the first book to see how it goes, and then provide a "subscription" option with a second crowdfunding for subsequent volumes. I'd like to see what sort of interest there is for the concept, first, before committing to doing a whole series.

If you are thinking in terms of a campaign, and are willing to consider The Immortal’s Fury an adventure path (Wrath of the Immortals Box Set)…

Among all the adventures I own, this is my favourite page:

Cool. I guess you could patreon for digital; and then when all is released, crowdfund for physical. It's a pattern many are adopting these days it seems.
