D&D General I built a free web tool to automate 5e prep (Visual Encounter Graph, Cursed Items, Shops). Looking for veteran feedback!

First of all, thank you to everyone who tested the app yesterday. The traffic surge was incredible (we actually hit a server memory limit for a minute there!).

I just spent the night pulling the live telemetry data from the Google Cloud database to see exactly what you all were clicking on. I ran a full data science breakdown, and the results are crystal clear: the Encounter Architect and the Initiative Tracker absolutely dominated the traffic.

You guys clearly want tools that remove the mechanical friction from combat. Because of this data, I am officially shifting my v3.0 development roadmap. I will be focusing heavily on expanding the VTT Export capabilities and adding more tactical tools to the Encounter Architect.

For any fellow data nerds out there, I compiled the whole crash-and-recovery analytics journey into a PDF case study for my portfolio. Thank you all for helping me build a truly data-driven tool. Let me know what combat features you want to see next!

I rebuilt my AI DM Tool to handle 22 different prep modules (Free/No Sub)

Roadmap Update: VTT Export is officially LIVE! 📥

First, thanks again for the incredible feedback here. In my last post, I mentioned shifting the roadmap toward VTT integration based on your data—well, the first phase is out.

I just pushed a hotfix to the DM Co-Pilot:

  • VTT Handout Export: The 📜 Scribe's Handouts module now features a one-click "Download for VTT" button.
  • The Workflow: Generate your immersive journals, letters, or bounties -> Click Download -> Drop the .txt file directly into Roll20 or Foundry handouts.
No more wrestling with copy-paste formatting in the middle of a session. I'm currently looking at bringing this same export logic to the 🐉 Monster Bestiary and 🧬 Homebrew Forge next.

[Status Report] The Forge is Hot & The Tavern is Open! 🍻

A quick update for everyone following the project! Over the last 24 hours, the app hit 370+ daily active users, and the feedback on the new VTT Export feature has been absolutely incredible.

Because of the massive influx of DMs generating custom loot and monsters, I realized we needed a place to actually share all these raw JSON files. So, I officially opened a Discord community for the app: The Deep-Delver's Grimoire.

If you are building high-level homebrew in the forge, hunting for drag-and-drop VTT files for Foundry/Roll20, or just want to help me beta-test the v2.5 updates before they go live, I would love to have some of the veterans from this board in the server!

Hey everyone, the response to the VTT exports has been insane. We've officially crossed 27+ hours of total active generation time on the app!

I just pushed two massive updates to the live Masterwork Edition:

  1. The Audio Scribe (Voice-to-Text): You can now literally speak your chaotic campaign ideas out loud directly into the app, and the AI will organize them into structured campaign notes.
  2. The Community Vault: You don't just have to generate items for yourself anymore. You can now publish your best Homebrew creations to a global live database for other DMs to drag and drop. We already have our first few submissions live!

Hey everyone! I’m a DM who got tired of having 20 tabs open during prep, so I spent the last few months coding a massive all-in-one DM tool called DM Co-Pilot. I just pushed a huge update today and wanted to share it with you all.

It’s completely free, runs in your browser, and has 22 tools right now to handle the heavy lifting. Here are a few of the coolest ones:

[Hotfix Update] You asked for tactical combat, you got it! 🛡️

Hey everyone, reviewing the data from the weekend showed that the Initiative Tracker is one of the most heavily used tools. Several of you mentioned that tracking conditions (Poisoned, Prone, Restrained) slows down your live games.

I just pushed v2.8 to the live app. The Initiative Tracker now has a built-in "Conditions" tagger for every monster/player.

The best part? I built it directly into the browser memory, which means tagging a monster has zero lag and won't slow down the app during a boss fight.

[Update v2.9] The "Player Cheat Sheet" is live! 📋

You all have been giving me fantastic feedback on removing friction from live sessions. After the combat tracker update, several of you pointed out that constantly asking players "What is your Passive Perception?" or "Did that hit your AC?" really bogs down the game.

So, I just added a Player Cheat Sheet module!

It is a zero-lag, interactive spreadsheet built directly into the app. You can add your whole party, type in their AC, Spell Save DCs, and Passive Senses, and the app instantly memorizes it in your browser session. You can bounce between generating loot, rolling dice, and checking their stats without ever losing your data.

Next on the Forge: The Villain Architect. A tool to generate a "Timeline of Evil" so you know exactly what the BBEG is doing off-screen while your players are shopping for 3 hours. 🦹‍♂️

[Update v2.12] The Masterwork Update: Tactical Combat Math & Direct VTT Webhooks! 🚀

Hey everyone, the feedback from this community over the last week has completely shaped the direction of DM Co-Pilot. After looking at the traffic data, it was obvious you guys wanted deeper combat tools and less friction getting data into your VTTs.

So, I just pushed a massive update to the live app. Here is what is new:

  • ⚖️ Action Economy Analyzer: D&D is a numbers game. You can now input your party size and the boss's actions. The app calculates the exact mathematical action ratio and tells you if your boss will get steamrolled in round one. It also uses AI to suggest specific, non-HP-based tactical mechanics to balance the fight.
  • 🔌 Direct Foundry VTT Webhooks: No more downloading JSON files. If you use Foundry, you can now enter your local REST API URL and instantly blast generated monsters straight into your live game.
  • 🔄 2014 -> 2024 Rule Converter: Paste your massive library of legacy 2014 homebrew monsters, and the AI will instantly rewrite them to match the new WotC 2024 design standards (moving Spellcasting to Actions, adding Weapon Masteries, etc.).
  • 🦹 The Villain Architect: Generate a 5-step "Timeline of Evil" so you always know what the BBEG is doing while your players are shopping.
