It’s a British term. I don’t know what the American equivalent is.

Had to look it up and "on/off ramp" would be the American equivalent

He said, "You", meaning me, and I'm American, so shrug.

I've never heard them called anything in particular in common parlance. They don't get referenced as a separate thing.

I didn't watch it live as I was pretty sick.

I did fly out to the Cape years ago to try to see the launch of STS-122 but technical issues meant the mission was scrubbed and wouldn't launch until the following February. I did still get to have breakfast with an astronaut which was pretty cool.

Sure they do -- they're on-ramps/off-ramps.

Those are for highways. My reading suggested that slip-lanes are a bit different in layout, and used on smaller streets. But not worth arguing over.

Slip roads (not lanes) are for getting on and off of motorways. The biggest roads. You can just ask this stuff, you know. You are in a conversation with at least one (1) British person!
