He's way too cute.... RogueAngel and I picked up this stray, but I'm not real sure what the breed is...

He sure can be a handful, and boy does he like to eat, but since he mostly catches his own food, it's no biggie... I sure do miss our next door neighbor though...

My condo association has restrictions as well, one pet per household, but no size restrictions.

Mine is a 9 year old 70 pound dog from the humane society, we got him 2 years ago. We guess he is part shepard, collie, husky, and corgy. Full sized dog on short stubby legs. I don't have any digital picks of him though. Combined with our neighbors Jack Russell and our other neighbors Sharpei, the postman and delivery people are very cautious approaching our condo.

Good luck with Monty, dogs are the best.

What in the name of Holy Gygax is that thing?!?!?

Cute puppy Djeta. Make sure you don't do what so many small-breed owners do, and that's to carry them around and baby them. That's the reason why there's so many ill-tempered chihuahuas; they get spoiled (just like human kids!).

Just to add to the puppy love-fest, here are my dogs. The malamute is a legacy from my girlfriend's single days, but the pit bull is OUR baby.

While you can spoil a dog, that's not the main issue with terriers - Jack Russel or otherwise.

Terriers, in general, have huge amounts of energy. If you don't train the heck out of them, and give them an outlet for that energy, they will find one for themselves. And the chances that the dog will choose an outlet you happen to like isn't very good.

Also, Jacks frequently have dominance issues. Even if you don't spoil them, they will continue to test the boundaries. It's a bit like living with a willful child. They can be controlled, and can be good pets, but it takes a lot fo work.

They're adorable too! :)

We aren't going to treat him like a plush toy. He's a dog. We're basically treating him like our kid. We plan on spending a lot of time playing frisbee in the park and such.

He's already very obedient and seems to be a very fast learner. It's hard when he cries for us but we ignore it when he does, to teach him that barking and crying won't get rewarded with attention. We're going to be good dog owners, but strict. I used to work in the exotic pet industry and my biggest pet peeve is people who give their pets up because they can't control them.

Ok, ok fine...I will post a cute picture of my puppy. :)

You might want to put a warning on the subject of this thread for all the pics that are going to start showing up! :)

Aw man, those dogs are adorable.

If it weren't for the size limitations, I'd put up pics of my dog or, more likely, my sisters 4 bulldogs(we treat them like children).
