Do they have a policy of allowing us free downloads of the updated PDF when we already own the PDF?

I need to visit you. I have a 2E PH and Monster book that the spines have come apart on. So if I finished cleaning that off of them it would be easy to run off an OCR copy at your shop. What would you charge for that? Just doing an OCR image, not printing?

You know, the law does not specify how you go about creating a PDF copy of a book you own. The law just says you can create a digital copy of what you do own in print. At least in the US. I haven't gone over the copyright laws of other nations. I did read through the UK's once. I don't recall...

Yeah, you have to find some method of making your own PDF's. You are allowed to make your own copy of books you own. Just remember, if you ever sell the books, you must get rid of the PDF's as well.

The 2E Monster Manual, with the Swords and Wizardry Tome of Horrors close behind. Why? Because they give me monsters at teh power level I want for my games. I gave up on 4E within months of it coming out, so cannot speak to the 4E MM's.
