    Music for Post Apocolyptic game

Godspeed you black emperor! World's end girlfriend I have personally used akira in my creepy games, specifically 'Battle against the clowns' as the themesong for some drug-addicts turned horrible slime monsters.

    Winter Holiday Gaming

The elves: Either actual elves or eladrin or imps. Someone took notice when this powerful wizard was starting to tip and sent minions to 'help' him along the way. Little elf type things helping him in his dark task and subtly prodding him farther along the path to insanity. As for reindeer...

    Winter Holiday Gaming

Howabout, an ancient wizard who's driven insane with grief when his family dies and attempts, nobly but foolishly to force the world to be happy forever. His plan is to deliver the world toys with a curse on them. The curse would slowly drain a familys ability to feel emotions until they were...

    1001 Mythic Cities

I knew you needed to get called out! Mind giving the phonetic pronunciation of that last city? My mind wants to read it like Mai Dahn

    1001 Mythic Cities

I really like the crystal towers. Its funny, we both posted a city in constant artifical shadow at like the same time. 7. Din-Mara This city is built into the great twilight peaks. The peaks are extremely difficult to pass even when well equipped, so the 'Great Gate City of Din-Mara' is really...

    1001 Mythic Cities

Er, I guess I should just assume you misunderstood the point of the thread. Editing first post to better reflect what this thread is about. Edit: Here's some more content! 3. Lum The massive city of Lum is filled with technical marvels, towers that scrape the sky, carts that drive...

    1001 Mythic Cities

Come on now, I know this place is full of DMs who are proud of their cities and players who remember falling off of spectacular vistas in a drunken haze!

Forked Thread: Name one thing you love and one thing you hate about 4e D&D

O ho ho. Such mischief. Fifth Element: In that respect, I agree, both of them are damn spikey. If I had to make a judgement I would say that items got less spikey and, as Kamikazi miget said, players got more spikey. Ayup. Though those spikeball gloves in the AV are pretty funny too.

    1001 Mythic Cities

The 'help me describe cities' thread got me thinking. And I think 1001 threads are one of the most entertaining and useful D&D things on the webternet, so lets go. Edit: That is FICTIONAL CITIES YOU HAVE USED AND VISITED IN YOUR GAMES + A LITTLE DESCRIPTION. 1001 Cool Cities: 1. Dar'es'Balat...

    Making places interesting/unique - DMing

Have a theme song for each city! Other than that, maybe Ill just list some of my more exciting venues: Dar'es'Balat (might have ripped the name from Dune, no longer sure): A Dragonborn city built into the walls of a massive ravine, a great river runs along the bottom of the ravine. The whole...

    (Who's Playing/Running) Delve Night

My FLGS asked me to run it, I think I might. However, I know there is a family (yes a family) of people who viciously hate 4e (although they admit having not read the books) and are in the FLGS all the time being jerks to people playing or looking to buy 4e. To be honest, if they werent there...

Forked Thread: Name one thing you love and one thing you hate about 4e D&D

The fact that this is a discussion at ALL seems strange. Did I miss something? Are spikes some eldritch currency of game goodness? Not all armor looks like the example armor. In both editions armor is only as spikey as DM and players want it to be. Or maybe I just dont understand the argument.

    Finished a Story Hour!

Sounds like a good read! I'll definitely page through it all printed out while I should be working on my own campaign (or an essay :( ) I'm going to be starting a story hour of my own soon, hopefully, so this should be an especially good read.

What kind of challenges could a tribe face?

Your tribe could also run into a tribe of proto-humans, or humans setting up a village. Early enough in their development when its entirely up to the players wether the village and humans live or die.

What kind of challenges could a tribe face?

quick idea, maybe a young hill giant wants to turn the tribe into his 'subjects'. Getting food for him and generally being lorded over. Naturally your players probably wouldnt go for that. This could go two ways. Combat: yawn, okay. Or RP. I can see a lot of ways this situation could be RPed...

    Watta Tweest!

Rechan, that's great. Funny thing: Its true, players are more vulnerable AFTER death! Each of my players is an agent of one force or another, so depending on who dies, the situation will be completely different. They dont know it now, but each of them gets 1 freebie, at a cost. I planned on...

    Watta Tweest!

I really want to post some of the upcoming twists in my current campaign, but I have to resist because I'm planning on writing up a story hour and because one of my players might find it. Suffice it to say that the current plot is INCREDIBLY heavily laced with totally plot reversing revelations...

    Official 4e "Monster Builder"

Yep, Asmor nailed this completely and totally. I can't really see them doing a much better job, but I still hold out a little hope. It would be neat if it had a way to build and balance abilities, etc too. Thats the only real big addition they could make.

    Watta Tweest!

The twist is a staple of all forms of entertainment, movie, books, videogames, etc. It is an incredible tool that can make a simple plot memorable and breath new life into a story. As a DM and as a player, what have been some of your FAVORITE roleplaying Tweests? DO THE TWIST
