    EPG Excerpt: Rituals

I have an amazing idea for a villain who's exploiting the Kundarak Fluid Funds services for money laundering.

I have the Eberron Player's Guide and Kingdom of Ghouls

What I'm thinking: Huh, each healing method has a different stat? Resistive Formula looks like it models the "give someone a potion that they can drink later" artificer schtick. I suppose Tinkerers are expected to have a high Wisdom.

I have the Eberron Player's Guide and Kingdom of Ghouls

    How does Artificer healing work?

House Rules & Colored Markers - a sort of advice contest with free stuff!

Hey Craig -- that is nice of you! E-mail sent, too. Another use: I created a warlock who has an "I curse you and if you die I get some ability" ability. So we put the markers under them to indicate cursing -- and then I kept a stack of "You've died so I get this resource" markers to spend on...

So that's why you like it

Okay, I do have one burning question on my mind: Why do people like critical misses? I don't mean "critical miss" as in "doesn't hit," I mean "you drop your weapon" or "you slice off your own arm."

    Tact-Tiles: The End

Any updates on this yet? I'm tempted to spring for a set of Battlegraph boards, but my group is somewhat accident-prone, so I'm eagerly awaiting Tact-Tiles: The Second Coming.

House Rules & Colored Markers - a sort of advice contest with free stuff!

Yeah, I was just trying to avoid linguistic parsing -- that way you don't have to spend any extra time going "Let me look at what that number is again..." The idea is that the stackable aspect to it means that you can easily visually determine numeric quantities.

House Rules & Colored Markers - a sort of advice contest with free stuff!

I actually just bought a set of Alea Tools markers last week. Still waiting for them to arrive in the mail, but I've been brainstorming potential non-typical things I can do with them: - Disambiguating visually similar figures using color: "Green human minion" is much easier than "Human minion...

WotC just mailed out VILLAGE OF HOMMLET 4E..got mine

Neat. I'm a Master-Level GM in the RPGA, so with any luck one of these will be coming in the mail.

What percent of your 4e parties have an Expertise feat?

100%, but our house rule is to just give the feats to everyone for free. (And even with the feat, my Barbarian still misses 75% of the time!)

How does the wizard compare now?

I'm amazed that nobody has mentioned Storm Pillar yet. This little wizard at-will is amazing: It's enemy-only, does automatic damage if the enemy enters it, and occupies a space. Our wizard last night almost single-handedly contained a fire elemental in a hallway while the rest of us were...

    Which One Was You?

Uh, I guess I'm the girl? I find it amusing that tabletop gamers are probably the most self-deprecating group in the geek hierarchy.

Why did they say Vancian magic would be gone?

Usually the party averages about two dailies per fight -- more if it's a difficult encounter. We usually push on ahead even when we're running low on dailies, but when someone runs out of healing surges, that's a full stop.

    Revised GSL TODAY!

I've been waiting for this. Great job, Scott.

DDI Subscribers: Are you satisfied with your subscription?

I'm merely somewhat satisfied, but that's because it's a mixed bag for me. Character Builder: Amazingly useful, despite having some significant flaws. Compendium: Also amazingly useful, but a horrible horrible user interface. Dragon and Dungeon: I was really impressed the first few months, but...

    Ema's RPG Sheet Website down...

...huh. I just realized that this is probably what Scott Rouse was talking about a couple of weeks ago when he was listing the things that were distracting him from OGL completion.

    My 4E Wishlist

I could use a big book of artifacts. In my opinion, artifacts now occupy the role of "scary and dangerous magic."

DDI, 6 months later: changing my mind

I gotta say, I love the Compendium, but I wish it didn't feel so much like trying to drain a pool using a straw. By which I mean: I think the interface could use some work. I'd love to be able to select a bunch of arbitrary things, store them in some kind of "My Campaign" workspace, and then...

Separating Crunch and Fluff at Character Creation

I have to admit that I actually thought: Hey, clever idea. If you're very likely to fail your Fort saves anyway, going into negatives might not be a horrible idea for a mechanical benefit. The trick of course is to find some way to avoid Fort saves, or at least avoid the conditions that...
