    Why re-release 3.5?

I for one play Pathfinder due to not being able to get a hold of the 3.5 core rules. I've since picked up the 3.5 MM and I have the 3.0 core rulebooks. Will I get the reprints?? Maybe, if I keep on listening to my inner collector voice that is. Of course I have a lot of 4th Ed stuff as well.

    Pathfinder Battles Preview: Opening Big

While I love the Pathfinder and D&D minis I'm not really a huge fan of the randomization of the boxes. That said I'm more looking forward to the Bestiary Pawns. Currently I use a combination of minis and my D&D Monster Vault tokens. As long as the pawns keeping coming I just might buy more...

    Miniature Painting

Games Workshop has a quite a bit on miniature painting. Their tutorials definately helped take my painting to another level. Good luck and practice and more practice will pay off in the long run. Here are a couple of good links with free info as well. Getting Started Painting Miniatures...

    Quick Generation 1e AD&D Characters

If you have access to the old 1st Ed modules most of them included pregenerated characters. Otherwise you might just have to bite the bullet and create them ahead of time for handing out at the start of the session.

WotC to Release 1st Edition Premium Core Rulebooks Reprints

While I have a copy of quite a bit of 1st Edition stuff, I will most definately be getting a of copy or two of this reissue. Thank you WOTC and most of all thank you Mr. Gary Gygax for creating a game that let this former kid be the Knight in shining armor.

Dungeons & Discourse: Atheism (and related)

I know it might be a little of the topic, but I like the Forgotten Realms take on the deities. That they get their power from their worshippers and how they treat their worshippers. I also like the fact that you didn't have to look to any deity but you faced the consequence of being part of...

    D&D: Daggerdale

So far I've liked it. I had my son download and buy a copy for both Xboxes in the house. The game play reminds me of the D&D game that came out for Xbox a few years back. You can do 4 player coop although it's limits 2 per box if you decide to do it local, hence a copy on the 2 Xboxes. We...

D&D Still Satanic? "So my mom threw away all my D&D books..."

In reading this thread I just had to share my own experiences. I grew up a small conservative TX town and when I got into D&D we didn't openly board cast. As for my parents my dad was the most vocal and he even got one of his minister friends to come over and talk to me about D&D and out of...

How can WoTC get new players buying Essentials?

Thank you for the recommends S'mon, I will drop by my FLGS and pickup what you recommend and will probably pickup the Red Box as well just for the sake of nostalgia. I must say it's good to be coming back to the game that first stirred my imagination long ago.

How can WoTC get new players buying Essentials?

Thank you for the recommendation rogueattorneny, I will indeed check Expeditious Retreat. As for availability of the rules I have 4 copies of the AD&D 1E PH. When I DM or GM I always provide a couple of copies of the PH and any other Player splat book I will allow.

How can WoTC get new players buying Essentials?

I must say thank you for this lively discussion as after 20 years I'm attempting at getting back into D&D. My 2 boys always want to learn to play but at the moment I'm stuck as I started with the Red Box back in the 80's and progressed to AD&D from there. I have the 4E PH and was considering...
