Slivers are evil, Slivers are sly....

True, I wouldn't want to begrudge a little parting shot of 1d4 Con... I simply recall that things like remove curse are usually mentioned in situations like this as a catch-all for bad infectious stuff. Mechanically, it makes sense how you've engineered it. - Devon

Need a CR for this Exploding Undead Template

I'd give it a +3 CR. It's got the equivalent of a Create Spawn ability, except it doesn't require the victim's actual death (it CAUSES the actual death, like a finger of Death spell). +4. However, it's usable only once, save to avoid. That would be a +2. But it's got a save DC that is...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Knightfall's "Humanoids + Templates = Fun" Thread (Retired)

One time I created a templated creature and although the template didn't call for it, its new type would have lowered its BAB -- I had to just ignore it. I think it was the move from Monstrous Humanoid to Aberration (I may have been using the Insectile template). I don't know -- has that...

Slivers are evil, Slivers are sly....

I suppose I'd want to add a higher-level healing spell option that would also negate the 1d4 Con loss caused by the decomposing proto-sliver. All in all, though, it looks pretty tight. A great critter. - Devon

There is a word missing: An infected creature takes 1d6 points of damage per round - Devon

Slivers are evil, Slivers are sly....

The way I understood it, incorporeal creatures have a 50% chance to ignore damage from ANY material source, even magical weapons -- the only thing a +1 got you was that 50% chance. Maybe I've been running it incorrectly -- I'll review my FAQ files. - Devon

[PR Silverthorne] Book of Templates Deluxe - Coming Soon!

I think the copy reads very well. No particular grammatical errors to speak of. A very respectable blend of information and promotion. Sounds very exciting! Can't wait to see it. - Devon

What Are All the Elementals and Paraelementals?

No problem. Here's what I have for the Ash elementals. Note that they were created inl ine with the AD&D tenets that Ash sucked heat away, which is why it has the Chill Touch ability and Cold subtype. The original AD&D versions actually had an area effect chilling field -- I had toned it...

    Planescape Planescape conversions

That's true -- the lightning elemental was indeed included in the CC. I had created a separate version of the lightning elemental, one that followed the standard hit die escalation of the prime four elementals. - Devon

    Planescape Planescape conversions

Hi, Boz, I had generated a new set of quasielementals awhile back. Recently I had a chance to review the AD&D Planescape MCIII (wherein those elementals are detailed) and they're very dissimilar. Would you be wanting to do a more exact conversion fo those elementals? - Devon

Converting the Upright Cargo Loader from "Aliens"

It does at the moment. - Devon correction: I thought you meant the draft version, not the real-life prop... doh!

What Are All the Elementals and Paraelementals?

Awhile ago, Krishnath posted the Paraelement Creature template and Half-Paraelemental template. The Paralelementals themselves, as Filby mentioned, are detailed in WotC's "Manual of the Planes." I followed up with the Quasielement Creature template and Half-Quasielement Creature templates...

Converting the Upright Cargo Loader from "Aliens"

Hi, folks, I've been toying with making a steam-powered analogue of the upright cargo loader with which Ripley defeated the Alien Queen in the "Aliens" movie. The device in question functions as a mechanical exo-suit, but could also be interpreted as a vehicle. The options, as I see them...

You liked "Burt the Barbarian"? That was more than I had expected. How about "Murray the Cleric"? He was our favorite random NPC. Were you simply looking for other whitebread Anglo/Saxon names? - Devon I had hoped "Phil the Paladin" would get more of a laugh. Ah, well.
