    Planescape Converting Planescape monsters

I think that the (Aquatic) subtype is good. (Water), on the other hand... well, they live in water, but it's not an integral part of their beings (as it is with marids, for instance). Plus, "water" on the Outer Planes is not elemental in nature but rather "spiritual", a physical manifestation of...

    Converting prehistoric animals

Yeah, it's believed that plesiosaurs nested on beaches, much like modern seals. So a land speed is appropriate.

    Converting Epic Level Beings

Rhea's not up for conversion? Anyway, I think Coeus should prove pretty easy... he comes off to me as pretty much the token "greater-than-the-average-greater titan" and not much more.

Converting Monsters from D&D Official Video Games

I like those ideas. Personally I would like Aberration, largely because I fancy the idea of a huge beholder city with lots of disgusting ocular alien-like lifeforms cruising all over the place... it has a certain Lovecraftian charm. But Undead isn't bad. Besides, tweaking stats for personal use...

    Planescape Converting Planescape monsters

Zoveri... fun! Also, if ever the incarnates come up, I agree that one stat block for the bunch of them is probably a good idea.

    Dark Sun Monsters Galore

If I recall my 2E correctly, I believe the spinewyrm is a kind of spiny snake rather than a dragon... with the exception of the elemental drakes and the Dragon Kings, dragons of any sort tend to be pretty rare on Athas.

Converting original D&D and Mystara monsters

Hm. Would it make sense to do two stat blocks, one for an individual (Fine-sized) flitterling and another for a swarm? Or would that just be silly?

    D&D 3E/3.5 Creature Catalog 3.5 Overhaul Project

Yeah, I think that to go with Oonga! (I love that name), the enhanced dire ape would make sense. Should've thought of that at first...

Mm, the giant cockatrice might be worth a quick treatment. But not the trees.

    D&D 3E/3.5 Creature Catalog 3.5 Overhaul Project

Figured you might've... ;) For my part, I think that Trickery and Luck are natural choices. Of the others, Knowledge and Magic seem the likeliest candidates to me.

For the "kenku characters" part, for cleric domains, you might look in Monstrous Mythology, wherein their deity Quorlinn is detailed.

Converting First Edition monsters from DRAGON magazine

*nod* Gotcha. Fair enough. What's your take on the subtype issue?

Converting First Edition monsters from DRAGON magazine

Just to add my two cents to this thread, I don't know if the Air subtype is really necessary. It seems to me like this creature is largely inspired by the dragons of legend, which had venemous breath, like the Hydra fought by Hercules. Other than the breath weapon (which is really more about...

    Converting prehistoric animals

Mm, I'd say not. Plesiosaurus had a sturdier build than elasmosaurus, but is limbs were essentially for the same use as a seal's or a penguin's. Whales can't do damage with their flippers, do they? I don't have MM handy. If they do, I'd say it fits here; otherwise, I think it's best to...

    Converting prehistoric animals

First of all, I think it may be best to borrow from Demiurge's flavor text for the description and avoid the references to snakes and turtles. That just strikes me as weird.
