D&D General Do you track material components?

https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/basic-rules/spellcasting#MaterialM Material (M) Casting some spells requires particular objects, specified in parentheses in the component entry. A character can use a component pouch or a spellcasting focus (found in “Equipment”) in place of the components...

D&D General Do you track material components?

It's a very basic 5E rule, given to every caster in some form. Not a feat or whatever.

D&D 5E Less armour but same protection

I think that the de-forestation needed to drill for oil, to keep those suits running, would be too real for me ;)

D&D General Do you track material components?

Maybe it's just me but this isn't something that differs much from table to table. The rules are pretty clear on them. Sure, if you want to cast a revivify you will have to buy diamonds but all the casting materials that don't have a stated gold cost are freely available through a casting focus.

    OSR Must OSR = Deadly?

Hit die PLUS CON MOD Sorry. Playing with my group has conditioned me that way.

D&D 5E Less armour but same protection

I dont mind the range or revel part, but claiming HP is better then AC...no. Just no. You only need to take a single look at the damage a monster does on average and the amount of healing someone can put out, at an equal level, and see that you >definitely< want to avoid getting hit in the first...

D&D 5E Less armour but same protection

I'm going to need an explanation on that logic because that makes zero sense.

D&D 5E Less armour but same protection

I would look into alternative (rare) materials to craft heavier armor in that case. Umberhulk or Turtle shell and the like.

    D&D 5E Long Rest/HD: I've been doing it wrong

We used to make the same mistake in the exact same way in my old group. When we changed to the intended rule the games have been significantly more fun imo, leading to more difficult decision making. However I do think this is mostly relevant to groups that follow your standard adventuring day...

    D&D 5E Boosting Sorcerers, Focus: Fun (+thread)

I'd start by giving some base-line metamagic options to all sorcerer's at level 2. Level 2 sorc feels SO bad when all you can do with it is make 1 more level 1 slot.

D&D General Do I need an attitude adjustment? (They're gonna nova the BBEG)

You got 8 people in your group. Changing some stuff will definatly be needed by default, I think.

D&D General Do I need an attitude adjustment? (They're gonna nova the BBEG)

The mythic monster encounter examples from the Theros book could be an option.

Shepard Druid does it better. Image added so it's official.

D&D 5E Proposed Houserule: Warlock Spell Slots

I'm sure nothing will go wrong with 9 level 3 spell slots per day @ level 5... For real though, give your warlock a Rod of the Pactkeeper or Pearl of Power early if you want to boost his spellcasting because your current idea can give some real balance issues if the player somewhat knows his class.

D&D 5E Aberrant Mind's Psionic Sorcery is officially the most powerful feature.

That's not much of an answer to my question and no, it definatly can't. But it's clear there isn't much to be gained from a discussion here so i'll skip the next 20 pages of this thread, which it will inevitably fill.

I dunno, it's your own hypothetical wizard that you are trying to beat. If you want to play him as a clueless Skyrim NPC; be my guest.

D&D 5E Yet Another Multiclassing Variant (Looking for Feedback)

Definatly true, atleast for most caster classes. Lagging behind on your spell levels is a big deal. A Bard might be tempted to pick up 2 levels of Hexblade for Medium Armor + shield, the Shield Spell, Eldritch Blast + Agonising Blast , Adv. on Concentration invocation and all that good stuff...

D&D 5E Aberrant Mind's Psionic Sorcery is officially the most powerful feature.

I know I shouldn't even bother because you will just come up with some fringe example hand-tailored to counter whatever I say but...what are you on about? Does Banishment not exist anymore? Forcecage? What if the mage goes invisible? What if he teleports away and sends out clone after clone to...
