    DnD/D20 Necessary Wizard Spells?

If you have a laptop and play somewhere with internet connection, you can google "SRD d20" and get the OGL, which has the PHB, DMG, MM, and a few others. Certainly has the "classic" Wizard spells. :)

    DnD/D20 Necessary Wizard Spells?

It warms my heart that you have fireball and lightning bolt on the list. They may not be the most powerful spells, but they are part of the conception of wizard to me. Heck, way back in the Dungeon! board game, they were two of the three spells a wizard had (the third being the top of my list...

    Iron Heroes

A lot of the Iron Heroes classes use various "token" mechanics. Usually the class does something to "build up" the tokens during combat, and then spends the tokens to do something awesome. Sometimes other things build up tokens. So archers can build up tokens by aiming for a while...

D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Death from above, via Treant?

For what it is worth, my attitude is less "Hey, with this CHEEZ I can WIN the GAME!1!1!!!1!" and more "Hmmm . . . that is an interesting red button on the wall there, what happens if I push it?"

D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Death from above, via Treant?

Treants already have the trample ability. :) If Treants, as characters, don't do damage as falling objects to anything they land on if they fall, then is there any rule that states whether and how much damage a falling character does to another character that it falls on? Like if a human fell...

Class that would complement a Scout/Ranger, Barbarian, Cleric and Vampire

If you like Complete Scoundrel I say run with it. I like the flavour of a Malconvoker. It would allow you to be the guy that spams the enemy with critters. You don't have to worry about buffing your fellow players as if you like you can buff the creatures you summon. And hey, you get demons...

D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Death from above, via Treant?

Well that is just it. I don't think the Treant, as falling character, is at terminal velocity at 10' (otherwise 10' pits would be more dangerous to heavy characters than to light characters which is not the case). So the Treant only takes 1d6. As falling object, he reaches max damage to...

D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Death from above, via Treant?

A Treant is 30' high, so I assume that waist height is around 10 to 15 feet. A Treant weighs 4500 lbs, so if it were a falling object falling 10' it would do 20d6 to whatever it landed on. Combining these facts with the "hop up" part of the Jump skill, could a Treant simply "hop up" 10'-15' to...

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

Mac compatibility for all of their software would be nice. Having even one dedicated "earlier editions" guy on their staff, to fix errata (like ToB), add stuff to the 3rd ed OGL, manage pdf sales for earlier editions, be a "Sage" for earlier editions questions, etc. An OGL for 4th ed. I would...

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Seven Samurai?

I know that Samurai are thought to be among the weakest of the base classes, but assuming that one was DMing a game in which had 7 players and they each played a Human Samurai (a la Complete Warrior) what would one do to make sure they were not overwhelmed? Just send weaker monsters (treat their...

    D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Major Image question

I think this is not true. A disbeliever sees a translucent outline, but no longer sees the figment in all its glory. I would assume the other senses are similarly no longer overwhelmed. From the SRD: "A successful saving throw against an illusion reveals it to be false, but a figment or...

What Makes Gaming Books as PDFs Desirable?

    1) price 2) Availability. I can get a pdf quicker than the hardcopy (sometimes the hardcopy won't be in my country for a while). And some hardcopies just can't be got, or not at any reasonable price. 3) If there is errata, a nice company will send a pdf patch or update to reflect this. As...

D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 smart, tricky fighter build help please

If you go Barbarian/Rogue then don't be a dwarf as you will face an experience point penalty. Barbarian/Fighter can be a dwarf without that penalty. Oh and check with your DM. Some DMs don't allow players to take the evil alignments.

non-garbled errata for Book of 9 Swords?

Well I contacted Custserv by phone and they are aware of the problem, and will fix it, but it is on the back-burner. I asked if it would take a year and he said he didn't think it would take that long. So I guess there is room for optimism -- I just have to be patient.

How do you like your sorcerer?

I like the Arcane Bloodline with a few houserules my DM allows (he is so far corebook only, but would have allowed the advanced players guide since he allowed the playtest classes from it): 1) Eschew Materials also covers minor focus spell components. 2) The Sorcerer can learn the bard spells...

Quest for the "perfect" all-in-one game

Didn't read the whole thread, so I will either add or +1 to Jaws of the Six Serpents, which has a nice Sword and Sorcery setting and a great Prose Descriptive Qualities system. The writing somehow reminds me of the Fighting Fantasy gamebooks of old. Highly recommended. I can't believe how...

non-garbled errata for Book of 9 Swords?

I went here: Official D&D Updates It seems that this Wotc document is messed up and after the fourth paragraph gives errata for a different Wotc book instead (Complete Mage, I think). Is there, or was there, any non-garbled errata for Tome of Battle: Book of 9 Swords?
