Countdown-timer at Green Ronin...? What's it all about?

Mike must be older than I thought. My 1984 Middle Earth Role Playing books would otherwise disagree.

The new Star Trek movie is...

See to me Trek isn't big budget action movies. Trek has been about exploring human society and motivations. If people like big budget action movies there are plenty to choose from, why does Trek need to be one of them.

Arcane Power: How long before the pirated copy appears

They believe that they will be able to come up with a non-PDF format for their productts that people wil pay for and will prevent piracy. I wish I lived in their world of rainbows and uinicorns.

Countdown-timer at Green Ronin...? What's it all about?

Maybe Wotc has decided to lisence the 4e version of the My Little Pony RPG to Green Ronin. Its not like WotC has done much with the property since anouncing the product 3 years ago.

Arcane Power: How long before the pirated copy appears

Ok, if thats the way you feel. But the people who were being sued were fans. You may not like them but they were doing what they were doing because they liked the music they were downloading, which makes them fans. Actually in the U.S. you do have a right to a product in whatever format you...

Arcane Power: How long before the pirated copy appears

That sueing your fans doesn't stop piracy and only pisses off the people who want to buy your product.

Krod Mandoon - Fantasy show - Comedy Central

The 1st series is only 6 episodes because it is co-produced by BBC2 and 6 episode series are not unusual for British programs. Comedy Central probably figured they would go with the shorter series just incase, then if it does well they can always fork over more money for a 12-13 episode second...

Why do they have to sacrifice their happiness when they can always come back and visit for some afternoon delight.

    Dollhouse #11:Briar Rose/Season 1/2009

Well I was disapointed in the security that was only as good as the speed of plot. This is what lost me on Heroes, where plot chalenges exist based solely on the stupidity of the main characters.

My phone call with Creg Leeds

It's a licensed d20 system product, not a licensed D&D product. I would love it if Pathfinder was a licensed D&D product. Dillution doesn't require unauthorized use. Consumers calling all facial tissues "Klennex", People refering to making "Xerox" coppies, and People "Hoovering" their rugs all...

New player asking for some advice/help, please. 3e vs 4e. Which one is for me?

I would agree with the poster who said that the best system is whatever version they played. I as well think the best version is the one I play. For all the helpful suggestions, I am noticing that peoples recommendations are based on what they they are playing as well, with the pros and cons...

My phone call with Creg Leeds

Because that statement could be used to challenge the Trademark on D&D as the trademark owner is himself diluting the trademark by calling other products D&D as well.

Humor (sort of): Do you do these ILLEGAL things? An informal poll.

Not to derail much more but remember that downloading and file sharing is covered under civil law and not criminal law. Theft is a crime covered under criminal law. Fire sharing is a copyright violation and covered under civil law. To compare it to any other criminal law is apples and oranges...

Humor (sort of): Do you do these ILLEGAL things? An informal poll.

Actually #2 is not neccesarily illegal in the US. You may not sell alcohol to minors nor may restaraunts or bars serve it to minors nor may you provide alcohol to minors who are not your children, but in most states parents may allow their own children to drink alcohol under their supervision...

So the Brits don't feel left out: Not carried out 2 hours of Longbow practice a week supervised by the local clergy. Placed a postage stamp bearing the British king or queen's image upside-down. Eaten a mince pie on Christmas Day. Broken a boiled egg at the sharp end. Been drunk on Licensed...

Worst case scenario: Could WotC "break" the whole industry?

I've seen plenty of shows use made up names for games that are like D&D when they don't want to pay royalties or arn't given permission for using the D&D brand name (i.e. Dwarflord). Most shows and people don't even know the term Tabletop RPG or that there are real indie versions of TRPGs. In...
