How often have you used Beholders?

I used Beholders two or three times in my Falconmoor Campaign, including an adapted version of the Beholder out of The Banewarrens (made the tower much larger and nastier; ditto for the beholder). They were definitely memorable fights. As they are iconic D&D critters, I enjoyed putting them...

Doom of Listenshire, tell me about it!

Sounds interesting...added it my DriveThru cart as well for my next round o' buyin'. :) EDIT: Question - what level would a typical group advance to and how long would the adventure take to run (ballpark)?

The Prestige - great movie (spoilers probably)

My take on it (and I could be completely wrong) is that Cutter thought [ugh, forgetting Bale's character's name) his friend had gone too far with his obsession and was just trying to just put an end to the rivalry and be done with it...although it did seem a little off to me as well. Might hold...

Best on TV Right Now? Post Your Opinion.

Heroes is the only show I make the time to watch when broadcast; the Tivo picks up BSG, Lost (starting to wear a little thin for me this season), The Daily Show, Jerico, 30 Rock (very funny), The Colbert Report.

The Prestige - great movie (spoilers probably)

I really enjoyed it. While it had a "sci-fi" element in an otherwise grounded movie, I bought into it based on how they introduced and explained it (vs. The Illusionist, which I liked but was disappointed on their "cheat" to explain certain things). Telsa reminded me of Wulf Ratbane's League...

    Jericho: Episode 5 Season 1

It feels like they established the main characters over the first two episodes, then resorted a bit to filler (i.e. the library fire)...I hope we get to see more of what's going on relatively soon. I was on the fence about watching this one but (thanks to Tivo) I'm sticking with it. I think...

    Heroes 10-23-06

I decided to catch the first episode when it aired but expected it to be lame...wow, was I wrong. Love this show. Can't wait for a DVD. Only complaint: "Save the cheerleader, save the world!" Hmm... Not sure on that one, but otherwise it's fantastic. Hiro rocks.

Cool, thanks - I'd appreciate it! :) RE: Photoshop - If you create a circle and fade it out (and/or add a gradient effect) you can make some nifty light source effects. RE: Camera - By chance are you using a Nikon Coolpic? It's the camera I use and I had the same problem - I make sure to...

I use Photoshop the same way (use it at work and prefer it over what I've tried out there specifically for running adventures). Nice pictures (but a little shaky/blurry) - it looks like you're getting a really good quality image! BTW, I liked the map of the two story inn: do you have a link...

Recommendations for a Halloween one-shot adventure?

There's some ideas there - thank you! Hopefully this thread is useful for other folks planning a special one-shot too. Not sure what I'm doing yet, but checking out all the links above! :)

Recommendations for a Halloween one-shot adventure?

Interesting outline, Shadowsmith. I'm looking more for an actual adventure: my regular campaign already requires quite a bit of prep time, so I'm shooting for recommendations of something that I could ready without a ton of work. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Recommendations for a Halloween one-shot adventure?

D&D 3rd, Call of Cthulu d20, or even Mutants and Masterminds. A good suggestion would be a solid one-shot adventure I can buy in PDF format. A better suggestion would be something that my old school players aren't familiar with (i.e. they know the original so I'm not inclined to use the new...

If you like the pad of paper, ditto to Kid C. If you want large rolls of paper, try Holcomb's Know Place - if they don't have it in stock they can special order it for you (it's pretty cheap) or you can order it off their website (easy to fnd via google). :)

I typically use grid paper so I don't need to worry about projecting a grid and scaling it; plus it allows me to use maps from a lot of different sources (like NWN) without worrying about adding a grid. In my case, my projector has a bit of a skew due to it's location, so having the grid...

Looking forward to it - last year was the first time I had gone since the early 90's and it was a lot of fun. :)

(Darkfuries) Masterwork Maps: Strongholds & Sanctuaries PDF Out Now

Looks good! Quick question: I see it's grayscale only from the preview and the maps are keyed. Are there 1) color version available (I use a digital projector so ink costs aren't an issue) and 2) are there un-keyed "for the players" version of the maps included? Thanks in advance!

One of the issues with the sculpted Dwarven Forge product, while great looking, is its limited use - i.e. how many times are your players going through the same cave (or dungeon)? While you can rearrange the pieces as needed to fight that repetition somewhat, with a projector you can use any...

Her journey to the Dark Side is complete

I can't rest...here's a little something from my previous campaign to "honor" ol' Jack. Based on the gaming group and their characters...good times, good times. :)

    Adventuring through a forest fire.

Hmmm...I think this is a very nifty premise for an adventure - you should create something for Dungeon with this senario! :)
