I agree with you that that's an option, but WotC has shown only limited interest in updating older products for stand-alone releases. Curse of Strahd is a definite exception, but I'm not convinced Tomb of Annihilation counts. It's certainly inspired by Tomb of Horrors but it is hardly an update...

I think part of this is page length of the source material. Red Hand of Doom is 128 pages. A lot of 1e adventures were 32 pages. That means you can put four revised 1e adventures or one 3e adventure in an anthology.

The page to claim the download is there, but is seemingly not linked to from anywhere useful (except the external Lego site, which is where I found it).

This is one of the features that seems to be only available via the D&D Beyond app. If you install that, you'll see "All", "Downloaded", and "Owned" filters for your library. I realize that doesn't help with navigating the website, of course. Edit: Ninjaed by @MNblockhead !

Those two examples, specifically, were new-to-core in 4e, but not new to 4e, so those inclusions still meet the "win back lapsed fans" goal for 5e.
