why? I don't understand this at all. If Item A can be given as treasure and be a d8 versatile sword that you can fight with dex and use sneak attack with, then it must be balanced to do so... heck it is only 1 part of the sun blade

magic and non magic shouldn't matter except for fluff... if a sword that is a finesse longsword is ok then it's ok... now if you think that it's ok because it's rare... then all it takes is make katannas rare...
