    "The fun is just starting..."

This won't be a problem once we have driverless cars!

    Ideas for "One Unique Things"

That's a cool idea. It comes a little close to impinging on the 'no combat effects' rule for Uniques, though. As a DM I'd make sure the player knew they weren't going to be able to use this to charge through a battle whenever they wanted.

    Pushing the 4th edition envelope

You know in 13th Age there are definitely powers that can only be activated for certain values of the escalation die. Having conditions get more severe as the die increases would be pretty straightforward. If you were going to use an escalation die in your 4e game I think this is a good idea.

    D&D 4.5E (Not Essentials)

That may technically be the case, but remember this is about how it FEELS to the player. I SUSPECT they would not appreciate the subtlety, but it's something you'd probably want to test.

Malware infects users through trusted Chrome extensions

Scary! But probably not a major problem long term. The privilege of spamming Add to Feedly's 30,000 users hardly seems like it would be worth four figures. I suspect the return-on-investment for this kind of scam just isn't gonna be worth it for most malware enthusiasts.

    D&D 4.5E (Not Essentials)

I think it's important to have a class's at-wills be unique. One of they key ideas is that "Every time the fighter attacks, he feels like a fighter." Having a unique power that no other class shares is part of that. The fighter knows that the ranger is not going to bust out Tide of Iron. That's...

    D&D 4.5E (Not Essentials)

re: power sources I honestly think a 4.5 would drop power sources altogether. At the end of the day, a classes power source had no mechanical meaning. It existed solely so there could be overpowered splat books entitled "X Power" and so that forumers could argue endlessly over whether there...

D&D 5E Final Playtest Packet vs. Finished Product

I predict that some things will be the same, BUT... other things will be different!! You'll see if I'm right!

Nintendo admits the Wii U is failing

Honestly, I think Nintendo needed to do something which they would NEVER do: they needed to make it so you could hook your own tablet up to the Wii U. Nobody wants the Wii U tablet because they already have tablets: iPads, iPad Minis, Nexus 7s, Samsungs, Kindle Fires. If Nintendo wanted to make...

Pathfinder 1E Should I kill off players who don't show?

It's not fair to single one or two players out for punishment by killing their characters. The only fair solution is to kill the entire group. :p More seriously, though, people go through phases in their lives where they might not have time to participate in a regular game, no matter how much...

    Ginger-ism

Of course, not everyone is prejudiced against redheads. I find redheads fairly attractive, personally. And Ferrari is Italian for redhead, so I think there may be some interest from Italy as well. :p

Nintendo admits the Wii U is failing

I believe the Wii U is backward compatible with the Wii. Cleverly, they make you re-purchase any virtual console games you bought on your Wii. :erm:

    Ooh that's cool!

    D&D 4.5E (Not Essentials)

Simplified combat would be top of the list. I love 4e, but I am so over two-hour combats where I have to try to remember dozens of status modifiers. Arguably toward the end, 4e was already moving towards getting rid of roles and AEDU. I don't mind roles but don't think they were necessary so I...

My players' pet theory is better than what I had planned. Is it cheesy for me to change things to match?

Not cheesy at all! Sounds like you're blessed with some cool players. Go for it! I have done this before on a couple of occasions. The main one that I recall is when my players were fighting a lich. They had picked up some small, strange item earlier and suddenly one of them said, "Oh my gosh...

    Ideas for "One Unique Things"

Roland Dragoblad the Thousand and First is indeed the 1000th descendant of the original Roland Dragoblad. If there is a reason that it is so important that every generation have a Roland Dragosblad, it has been lost to history.

Do alignments improve the gaming experience?

That's interesting and I did not know that. I feel like you could easily achieve the same effects without alignment, though. Say there was a 'Paladin's Oath' which a player could optionally take which served to give them more access to clerical support but bound them from performing certain...

Do alignments improve the gaming experience?

As someone who got into D&D relatively recently, alignment has always seemed fairly pointless to me. It's an anachronism, and I promptly ignore the alignment grid anywhere it appears. It has no interesting mechanical benefits and seems like it could actually hinder an interesting story. I have...

    Ideas for "One Unique Things"

I'm far more likely to run 13th Age then to get to play in a game. But I think this OUT is a doozy... Elric is the Emperor's clone. :]
