    What are your core races?

I'm with you there. My players know that if they come up with a cool enough idea I'll be willing to consider it. For instance in our Dark Sun (4e) campaign one of my players wanted to play a Deva. "But there are no gods on Athas," I said. "I'm a forgotten avatar abandoned by the gods," he said...

Disney to revise Star Wars canon

Yeah, how about they declare the prequels not canon and we'll call it even? :p

    Iconic states and nations

I lived in Europe for a while. One of my Canadian friends got annoyed that when people asked me "Where are you from?" I usually replied "Florida". But it's one of those states everyone knows! Someone ELSE had gotten on my case for saying I was "American" (Canadians and Mexicans are Americans...

    What are your core races?

The Kender in 5e thread got me thinking... what races do people think should count as core? Say you were lead designer for 6e, what would your core races be? Me, I'm a big tent kinda guy. I think things like Tieflings and Warforged are pretty cool and don't mind finding ways to incorporate...

Gnomes! (HUH) What are they good for? Absolutely nothing!

This is actually the first write-up of gnomes I've ever seen that made them sound interesting to me. An entire society based on illusions! I like it.

Sadly, it seems all roads lead to gnome.

    Setting help, New Cyre

I'm not familiar with the Eberron setting and I don't know what this means, but having the PCs overthrow a city sure sounds exciting! Kudos to you!

Any AQI style Podcasts for 13th Age?

I second the BJ Shea podcasts. They're entertaining, easy to follow, and relatively short. PLUS, they have Rob Heinsoo himself acting as AgeMaster. I always enjoy learning from the style of master GMs. Rob's highly improvisational style and his constant negotiations with his players was a real...

December Dragon & Dungeon - the Hiatus begins

Sadly, one of the people who wrote KotS was... Mike Mearls. I somewhat agree, but I think if they're going to continue to offer DDI as a subscription service they will need ongoing content to make that subscription attractive. And that content might as well be called "Dungeon" and "Dragon".

Gnomes! (HUH) What are they good for? Absolutely nothing!

Hmm. Would you say that Niles relegated them to a gnome man's land? :D I am enjoying how many people are saying "Well obviously, gnomes are X" and then giving a different answer for X. Apparently there's no clear consensus on what gnomes are all about even among people who like gnomes. Jester...

Print ain't coming back, kids. At this point there are few print magazines in ANY market that are profitable. Dungeon and Dragon ain't TIME, Sports Illustrated or The Economist.

    D&D 5E Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

You've never looked at the names on the cover of the books you were buying?? I sure as heck know that Rob Heinsoo wrote the very excellent 4e Underdark book. Huh, I wonder what he's doing nowadays... Anecdotally, I know lots of 4e players who have no interest in whatevertheheck 5e is doing...

    D&D 5E Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

I agree that the lack of passion for or against 5e is a big, big problem for WotC. I think there are a lot of folks who are disappointed or just plain meh about the new edition. In earlier times they would have gone to the forums and 'edition warred' (or typed angry letters to Dragon magazine...
