Any Other 4e Review Sites Out There?

RPG.net remains, so far as I know, the premiere RPG review site online.

    Setting-fluff terminology? Simple or Unique?

Look at the first Star Wars film. The names for all of the fantasy elements are very basic: Force, star destroyer, droid, blaster, hyperdrive; all words you can basically understand as a newcomer without a glossary of terms. Heck, the names for the characters are pretty non-fantastical: Luke...

Thank god. I've been waiting for my PCs to be able to run a print shop.

    Elemental Power Source

I very strongly expect that the siloing in the elemental source won't be to put each element into one class or role. I don't think the design team wants a scenario where a solo is immune to fire, so the defender better just sit this encounter out.

    Revisionist game publishing

I think it's really swell that these threads bitch about the loss of Oversized (which isn't actually represented in any minotaur stat block), but never the wholly player-centric, unknown-in-the-Manual additions of Danger Sense, Defended Mind, and Shifting Fortunes to the Githzerai. Sauce for the...

Dragon 382 - Winning Races: Dusk Elf

If this is based on--or at least somehow inspired by--Warcraft's night elves, I'm delighted to see D&D plundering pop culture for ideas, and I say that without any sarcasm intended. If Old Geezer at rpg.net is to be credited (and since he was part of Gary's original group [and responsible for...

    Race Elimination Round 4!!!

"Race Elimination" is easily the most uncomfortable thread title I've seen in a long time.

"If this problem is so bad, why aren't YOU doing it, NPC?"

A 4E answer is that the game-mechanical aspects of things, like level, don't describe absolutes, but rather how the world and things in it interface with the PCs. Heck, given that most of the statistical effect of level comes in with attack/defense aspects, you could have the PCs mentored by a...

    PDF Sales?

Mahdi's right that I'm not a lawyer and do not give legal advice, but I do try my best to understand my consumer rights under the doctrine of first sale. To put it another way: I would be willing to make a purchase under such an arrangement if I were in the market for a 4E PDF. Here are a few...

    PDF Sales?

If someone is willing to send you their legally-obtained copy and delete it from their own systems, then you can, in fact, legally obtain a copy of the PDFs that were formerly available for purchase on various websites. Find someone who bought the PDFs you want and who is willing to sell them to...

Dark Sun: Dragon Kings... or Sorcerer Kings?

Cosmic sorcerers could become a star, a la the Radiant One epic destiny. Storm sorcerers could become that, uh, really storm-focused epic destiny whose name escapes me. Dragon sorcerers are obvious. Wild sorcerers are a bit more difficult. Maybe the fate-based epic destiny in Arcane Power?

An idea for a "third" book in the Campaign Setting sets.

I'm not sure that giant fantasy kitchen sinks like Forgotten Realms or Eberron need this, but Dark Sun could certainly benefit from a Big Book of Things That Try to Kill You.

    Abyssal Genasi

Eymological fallacy, prescriptive vs. common usage, etc. "Paranoid" has a common meaning outside of the clinical. "Hysterical" doesn't mean womb-crazy anymore. Definitions drift, and may vary based on context (here, musical genre vs. general culture). It's an unwinnable argument on all sides.
