D&D (2024) "D&D Monster Manual 2025 is going to pack a serious punch thanks to a family of monsters descended from gods, and frankly I’m terrified"(Gamesradar)

Nope, never heard of it. Only cap I recall was 20, with epic rules to get feats and such after that.

D&D (2024) "D&D Monster Manual 2025 is going to pack a serious punch thanks to a family of monsters descended from gods, and frankly I’m terrified"(Gamesradar)

I don't even know what E6, E10, and E12 are? But yeah, if you've been on this message board or Reddit's message board for the past decade discussing 5e, a top complaint was lack of higher level monsters. Ha, why else did you think they had complete stats? Yes we fought the Gods as kids...

D&D (2024) "D&D Monster Manual 2025 is going to pack a serious punch thanks to a family of monsters descended from gods, and frankly I’m terrified"(Gamesradar)

For monsters, we ABSOLUTELY needed that. People have been asking for stronger monsters at the higher CRs from the first day 5e came out. No idea why you'd object to that. It's probably the #1 complaint people have had for ages. What are you talking about? We've ALWAYS had God-like monsters in...

    D&D 5E Optimizing for more grit…

We do this with dungeons and it requires no house rules, just a tough DM: 1) don't let the players rest very often in a dungeon. Fights make noise, spells make noise, other monsters in other areas come to investigate. Monsters wander around and don't stay static in just one area, so players...

D&D 5E BG3 is once again a Platinium Selling Game in 2024, without selling a DLC.

By nephew just got BG3, and I recommended it to a friend who may get it soon. It's that good, though admittedly I don't play a lot of video games these days. So far I only own Hogwart's Legacy as my other game on my Xbox S. Though I may be about to get Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

    D&D (2024) D&D Beyond Thanks Community

Given well more than half of these announcements are in-person play or physical products, what is it about these announcements which trigger your fear that they will stop publishing hardcopy books?

    D&D (2024) Thief Rogue / True Strike

Doh! You're so right, good point!

    D&D (2024) Thief Rogue / True Strike

OK, but I am sure we can agree there can be a triggered described which is on a turn that is not the rogues turn. Does it work?

    D&D (2024) Thief Rogue / True Strike

I'd like to revisit this question of multiple sneak attacks per round by means of the Fast Hands feature of the Thief. OK. Let's say you're a Rogue(Thief) with the magic item Ring of the Ram: So can the thief with Fast Hands use the Ring of the Ram as a bonus action, make an attack with it...

D&D General 5e Wands with finite charges?

I have concerns about the new spell-charged make-your-own magic items in the 2024 DMG and was thinking a non-regenerating version might be the solution to those concerns.

    Tell your overdue Kickstarter story

We are in a combined Waterdeep campaign. Mostly in the dungeon but we return to the city here and there as a home base. Our overarching quest includes finding something in the dungeon to help the city.

    Tell your overdue Kickstarter story

I am currently playing through Dungeon of the Mad Mage and our DM has made it great, but if you read through the book it reads just fine. Megadungeons don't generally read as stunning.

    Tell your overdue Kickstarter story

It's fine. Maps are strong. Background lore is strong. Dungeon is fine. Pretty extensive and it would take a long time to get through all this content. It doesn't blow me away but thought was put into it and it's fine.

    Tell your overdue Kickstarter story

Ernest Gary Gygax Jr.'s Marmoreal Tomb Campaign Starter. THIS HAS NOW DELIVERED. However, it was funded in mid 2015. It was supposed to deliver in March of 2016 and we were told in the Kickstarter that most of it had been written. That...was not accurate. It didn't complete and ship until mid...

D&D Releases Playtest for Updated Artificer

Just reviewed Treantmonk's video on this. Here is a summary of the issues he sees with the class. I should first mention overall he likes the direction they're going with the class, he just sees some problems: 1) Material Components: Every Artificer spell requires a material component of a...

D&D Releases Playtest for Updated Artificer

I think a well built Assassin can keep up with most other good DPS builds. And thief really depends on the magic items and magic item crafting rules your DM decides to go with but they could be a terrifying DPS machine depending on those rules.

D&D Releases Playtest for Updated Artificer

Rogues do pretty darn good DPS.

D&D Releases Playtest for Updated Artificer

This...does not feel good enough. The core class is not strong enough, and the subclasses are not well balanced against each other. Needs work.

    D&D (2024) D&D Monster Manual (2025)

Woof. OK. I can see fights lasting much longer under what looks to be the trend for the new MM (blink dogs aside) and draining more resources per fight. Our DM however is pretty used to pushing us to roughly 6-8 encounters per adventuring day, interrupting rests if we try to rest too often...
