Tac Lord, Inspiring Word, and Battle Inspiration...

Even if he was at full hp's? That sounds reasonable. I wonder what WotC's take is on this though. FYI, I edited my post while you posted.

Tac Lord, Inspiring Word, and Battle Inspiration...

This is RAW, but is it RAI? For example the Heroic Level Saving Inspiration feat which can be found on page 139 of the Martial Power book and stipulates "When you use inspiring word, you can forgo any extra dice of healing granted by the power to instead grant the target a saving throw" doesn't...

    D&D 5E Would you consider 5th edition?

(About 2nd edition...) Which is why I'd house rule in some 3.5/4th ed stuff. I love what they did with races in 4th ed (FINALLY a reason to pick race X over race Y), and of course feats. This way you'd get no dead levels but still work on a simple system.

Tac Lord, Inspiring Word, and Battle Inspiration...

All right, here goes: I play a 16th level taclord. With my PP, now that I'm 16 when I do inspiring word on an ally (and I can use Inspiring Word 4 times per encounter), he can spend a healing surge, make a save at +2, have a +7 movement until the end of my next turn, and have a +7 on all his...

    D&D 5E Would you consider 5th edition?

I'm currently in two 4th ed campaigns. That said, I'm extremely disappointed. The thing is, for me Pathfinder isn't better! Pathfinder tried to stick to 3.5 too much and it's complexity. So I've been thinking about going back to 2nd ed and house ruling in whatever I liked from to the 3.5 and...

Vote for your favorite Paragon Path - Part 7: Warlord

The Battle Captain is a party's Best Friend. Especially at level 21, when he grabs the feat that allows him to do Inspiring Word on two allies, 4 times per combat. The way I built mine, this means that at level 21, when doing Inspiring Word, he can make two allies spend a healing surge, make a...

Martial Power 2 - Comments, Reviews, Noteworthy Stuff?

Well, my warlord is average in AC (not good, not bad), but in the other campaign my friend's warlord's AC sucks. He went the Eladrin Greatspear way. And he goes down QUICK when the DM puts the pressure on him. So did I in the last game session. If I had that at will back then, I would have...

Martial Power 2 - Comments, Reviews, Noteworthy Stuff?

As most power books, it's a lot of "meh" stuff with a few "OMG!!!" gems. I play two characters (in two games), a bow ranger (18) and a warlord (14), so here are my must haves. Doesn't hurt that I'm currently level'ling up BOTH characters between game sessions! Warlord: Direct The Strike (at...

    Daily class powers and levels

Thanks for the replies. I think they should allow you to take the same power more than once. It's not unbalancing, what with the "Salve of Power" (or somesuch) that lets you recuperate a daily of 5th level or lower at the cost of a surge.

    Daily class powers and levels

From this thread: http://www.enworld.org/forum/5053041-post11.html I was under the impression that you HAD to take a power of the new level. If this is the case, is it thus possible to take twice the same power?

    Ranged bow build help

My 16th level Arcane Archer took the Archer build. I am ALWAYS adjacent to my target. With my wintertouched cheese, and a few judicial feats and magic items, when the critter swings at me because I'm firing at him, he does so... at -9 to hit. He only hits on a 20, and when THAT happens, the...

    Divine Challenge=Divine Sanction?

Not really on-topic, but the OP mentioned it: In google type the following: site:www .enworld .org divine challenge Remove the spaces in the url name. It will serve perfectly as a search function.

Surging Flame Feat: Better than I thought

Back to the OP... Sure, if you build a party around the feat, you'll be extremely efficient as a group against fire-resisting critters. How many times do you think your DM will throw fire resisting beasts at you under these circumstances? From my experience, the best build is quite often the...

Surging Flame Feat: Better than I thought

It's still only good against critters resistant to fire, so I doubt if anyone will take it. Nothing beats lasting frost/wintertouched, and that's a shame because it would be fun to see what other elemental focuses would play like. Arcane strikers must go the frost way if they want to have a...

D&D 4E How to Build 4E Solo Adventures?

Just pit the soloist against encounters 4 levels below her. This way the rate of advancement will be roughly the same, the critters will roughly have a -4 to hit, and the player will roughly have a +4 to hit. The soloist will thus be able to withstand attacks more, and also use potions and...

Replacing PP powers for class powers

I feared as much. Some PP's have wicked features, but with extremely bad powers, that almost never get used in play. It's too bad. Thanks for looking up the facts for me.

Replacing PP powers for class powers

Page 28 of the PH stipulates under RETRAINING that you can't replace a PP power for a regular power, but when you reach, say, 13th level and you replace a lower level encounter power for a 13th level encounter power, can you replace the encounter power you gained with your PP at 11th level for a...

Seeking Magic Item that ignores cover

There's also a ranger feat that cancels cover on his quarry. I'm trying to have the effect on at all times without having to spend a feat, but I don't think I'll have a choice.

Seeking Magic Item that ignores cover

I know there's gloves that allows an archer to ignore cover, but I had to trade them in for another (better) pair of gloves. Besides weapons, arm slots, hand slots, or armor slots, are there other items that ignore cover as a property?
